Biography
Rice Daniel Thompson was born on November 22, 1988 in the small town of White Rock near Vancouver, Canada. From an early age, the boy showed interest in art, especially in acting. Parents, seeing this, supported the aspirations of their son and began to participate with him in productions in Vancouver, where Rhys mostly got secondary roles.
After graduating from the sixth grade, the boy realized that he no longer wanted to go to school. He convinced his mother to transfer him to homeschooling and enrolled in acting classes. Shortly thereafter, Rhys was spotted by an agent and began going to auditions after signing a contract.
Career
Auditions paid off, and Thompson was invited to voice characters in multimedia series. He took part in the dubbing of Canadian animated series"Infinite Rivius", "Master Keaton" and several others.
In parallel, the future actor appeared with episodic roles in the series "Jeremiah", "The True Call" and "Life with the Dead".
Rhys played his first notable role in 2002 in the children's TV series I Love Mom. He embodied the character of James Barnes. Thompson's first film appearance was in the 2003 film Dreamcatcher. In 2004, the actor played in three episodes of Stargate: Atlantis. From 2005 to 2008, Rhys Thompson played a character named Dwayne in the children's television series Zixx, who became one of the main characters from the second season.
The actor received his first major film role in 2007 in the movie "Rocket Science". Thompson had to play a stuttering boy named Hal Hefner. The film received positive reviews, winning the Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. At the same time, Thompson voiced the Aero-hero of the animated series Geotrax.
