Vulture (Marvel Comics) is not one of the most famous comic book supervillains. Nevertheless, our article will be devoted to this character. The nickname Vulture was worn by six villains of the Marvel universe, the most famous of them is Adrian Toomes, the eternal enemy of Spider-Man. Let's talk about him.
How the Vulture appeared
Marvel Comics usually always gives its characters a rich biography, and our supervillain was no exception.
Adrian Toomes lost his parents at an early age and was raised by Marcus, his older brother. Already in those years, he was noticeably distinguished by his mental abilities. Growing up, Adrian chose the profession of an electronic engineer. During these years, he invented a suit that allowed him to fly like a bird. But his partner Bestman stole the development and sold it. Toomes was unable to prove his rights to the invention. In a futile attempt to restore justice, he broke into Bestman's office and robbed it. It didn't lead to anything, but from that moment on, Adrian took the side of evil and took on a name for himself. Vulture.
Marvel Comics (heroes created by this company constantly clash with villains) decided to cross paths between Spider-Man and Vulture when the latter traded in air piracy. The Spider himself needed pictures of the Vulture to win the Daily Bugle Award. Tooms managed to win the first fight, and Spider-Man almost lost his life. But soon the superhero managed to develop a device that disrupts the operation of the Vulture's suit. As a result, Toomes was defeated and ended up in prison. We can say that it was from this moment that the eternal confrontation between the characters began.
Powers and abilities
Vulture (Marvel Comics) is not endowed with superpowers, so he uses all kinds of devices to fight superheroes. Let's list the advantages that all kinds of gadgets give him:
- Levitation. Even without the use of his flight belt, Tooms is able to levitate, having used the device for a very long time. But at the same time, its flight speed is greatly reduced.
- Gravity manipulation. With the help of magnetic technology, the Vulture is able to lift heavy objects, such as a water tower.
- Inhuman strength. The electromagnetic belt increases the strength of the Vulture several times. Using it, he can lift an object weighing up to 317 kg.
- Intellect. Tooms is a genius electronics engineer and has knowledge in mechanical and electronics engineering. He made almost all of his gear himself.
Equipment
As noted above, the Vulture is not endowed with any superpowers. The world of Marvel comics will include a huge number of characters, but those whose powers depend on technology are not so many. So, let's list the equipment that makes the Vulture equal to characters with superpowers:
- Wings and electromagnetic belt. With the help of these gadgets, Tooms is able to climb to a height of 11,000 feet and reach a speed of 153 km / h. An anti-gravity generator is attached to his flying suit, which allows the villain to rise into the air with the help of flapping wings. And the electromagnetic belt increases his physical strength and increases survivability. When Toomes removes his suit, his abilities fade away.
- Feathers-blades The Vulture uses as a throwing weapon. However, their loss does not affect the flying characteristics of the suit.
- Weapons. The Vulture does not hesitate to use regular and energy pistols, knives, grenades and gloves with claws.
Other Vultures
As noted above, the alias Vulture (Marvel Comics) was worn by more than one character. Let's list those who still owned this name:
- Rañero Drago became the Vulture by bugging Toomes the whereabouts of a spare suit while they were in jail together.
- Clifton Shallot went mad, put on a Vulture costume and used a transmutation machine. As a result, merged with the suit.
- Honcho is a former fellow Carmenian of Tooms, who was able tocollect similar armor yourself.
- James Natal became a vulture monster as a result of an experiment to create super soldiers. Then he went crazy and started killing everyone.
This is the story of the supervillain known as the Vulture. The heroes of Marvel comics are becoming more and more popular today, so perhaps this character will soon hit our movie screens.
