Due to problems with drugs and alcohol, the actress was forced to go to treatment and has not appeared in front of cameras since 2010. In the film, Amanda played Marianne Bryant, a religious girl who is at odds with Olive Pendergast, the main character of the film.
The role of Olive went to Emma Stone, known to film fans for the films "Welcome to Zombieland" and "The Boys Like It".
Pann Badgley and Alison Michalka - actorsfilm "A student of easy virtue" - played by Toda and Rhiannon, Olive's school friends. Pann Badgley was previously known to the audience thanks to the role of Michael in the thriller "Stepfather", and Alison Michalka - on the TV series "Hellcats".
Other famous actors appeared in the film. "A" is the first teen comedy in the career of Patricia Clarkson, known for the dramas "The Green Mile" and "The Untouchables". She played the role of Rosemary, the mother of the main character, who strongly supports her daughter in everything.
Stanley Tucci, who played Dill, Olive's father, needs no introduction - this name is well known to all moviegoers. His filmography includes such famous films as Slevin's Lucky Number, Julie and Julia, The Lovely Bones.
Young actor Bryce Clyde Denkins made his debut as Chip, Olive's younger brother and adopted son of Rosemary and Dill.
At the end of 2009, the casting of the film "Excellent student of easy virtue" was completed. The actors and roles were approved, and preparations for the filming process began.
Will Gluck, formerly of the teen comedy Light It Up This Summer, has taken over as director.
The film was shot entirely in Ojai, California.
