This actor could not live a day without the theater, having fallen in love with him since childhood once and for all. Biography Facts

Eduard Martsevich is a native of the city of Tbilisi, he was born on December 29, 1936. He can be considered the successor of the acting dynasty, since his father taught at a theater studio in Baku, and his mother was a prompter. And then one day the theater went on tour to the Georgian capital, where Eduard Martsevich was born.

The boy's childhood passed behind the scenes. He liked to watch how masterly his father played. Eduard Martsevich,whose biography is extremely interesting, while still a boy he began to enjoy that unique atmosphere that always reigns in the temple of Melpomene, trying not to miss a single rehearsal and performance. Before the war, the family in which Martsevich grew up falls apart: his father and mother decided to divorce.

Post-war years

After the end of the Great Patriotic War, the father of the actor (Evgeny Mikhailovich) ended up in Vilnius. In the Lithuanian capital, he continues to teach, choosing a drama club at the local communications club. Soon Eduard is moving to Vilnius with his mother and her new husband. Then the boy meets his own father. After that, Eduard began to frequent the communication club, where he signed up for several circles at once in order to be closer to Evgeny Mikhailovich.

The guy asks his father to enroll him in his circle, but he was in no hurry to fulfill his son's request, doubting that he had a talent for acting. However, the younger Martsevich was not going to give up so easily. Once he recited poetry so emotionally and expressively that Evgeny Mikhailovich began to reproach himself for not believing in his own son, and took him to the drama club.

Years of study

Of course, Eduard already from his youthful years understood that he was destined for one path in life - the theater. He applied to several higher educational institutions at once, where acting skills were taught. In GITIS, he had to hear a disappointing verdict from the examiners: he has no talent for acting. However, in other universities, members of the admissions committee hadradically opposite point of view. So he was enrolled in the students of the Shchepkinsky school. Here, the eminent director Konstantin Zubov becomes his mentor. Together with him, the now famous Stanislav Lyubshin and Nelly Kornienko learned the basics of acting. In his last year, Martsevich thoroughly worked on his thesis.

He managed to transform as naturally as possible into the image of Alexei in Korshunov's production of Optimistic Tragedy. It is noteworthy that initially Edward was supposed to play a deaf-mute officer. But a few days before the show, it turns out that the lead actor in the play cannot go on stage, and then she will be redirected to Martsevich. He filigree coped with the acting task.

Film work

In the cinema, Martsevich began to try himself in his student years. The first appearance on the set took place in the image of Arkady Kirsanov, when they filmed the famous Turgenev's work "Fathers and Sons".

This role was remembered by the directors, and the actor began to be used more often in films. In particular, Sergei Bondarchuk approved Martsevich for the role of Boris Drubetskoy, and Boris Barnet invited the actor to play Vovka in the film Annushka.

Red Tent

In 1969, the popularity of the actor literally rolls over. Eduard Martsevich is testing "copper pipes" again. The filmography of the actor is immortalized by the film "Red Tent", directed by Mikhail Kalatozov in the genre of historical adventure drama. In the distant 1962, the actor became a member of the Union of theatrical figures of the country, and in 1975 he was admitted to the Union of Cinematographers.

In 1987, Eduard Evgenievich was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR. Ten years later, he was awarded the Order of Friendship, he was awarded the medals "In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow" and "Veteran of Labor".

The maestro liked to spend his leisure time reading Russian classics and listening to the music of Schubert, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky. The actor liked to be in nature, although he was not an avid hunter and fisherman.

Eduard Evgenievich preferred to simply enjoy the picturesque beauties of our vast country: azure skies, majestic forests, clear lakes, endless fields.

Private life

In his personal life, Martsevich was a very happy person. His wife Lilia Osmanova worked as an employee of a banking institution. She bore him two sons: Cyril and Philip. The offspring became the successors of the acting dynasty. The first son, like his father, is a graduate of the Shchepkinsky school. He serves in the capital's drama theater "Modern" under the supervision of the People's Artist S. A. Vragova. Son Philip graduated from the Higher Theater School. M. S. Shchepkina in 2001. Since 2005, he has been playing on the stage of the Maly Theater.

In the last years of his life, the he alth of the actor left much to be desired. He was ill for a long time. After another exacerbation, the actor was taken to the Botkin hospital, but his state of he alth did not improve, on the contrary, Eduard Evgenievich became even worse. In early October, it was decided to hospitalize the actor at the Sklifosovsky Institute (department of acute endotoxicosis). He passed away on October 12, 2013. The death of Eduard Martsevich shocked the audience and his colleagues at the Maly Theater. He died without regaining consciousness. But those roles that Eduard Martsevich played brilliantly remained in my memory. The actor's cause of death is cirrhosis of the liver. He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery of the capital.
