Among the Marvel superheroes, one of the most controversial is Mystic (Raven Darkholme). Since appearing on the pages of comics in 1978, she almost immediately fell in love with readers so much that during the film adaptation of X-Men, she and Magneto (Erik Lehnsherr) were chosen as the main antagonists.
Biography Mystic
This heroine doesn't look like an ordinary person. Her body is covered with blue scales that help her transform into anyone. In her true form, a yellow-eyed girl with scarlet hair and blue skin, she rarely appears.
Initially, Mystique was unable to change her body shape or grow additional limbs, but after exposure to radiation, her abilities increased.
The exact age of the heroine is unknown, but presumably she was born in the 19th century. At various times, the girl used various aliases, and her real name is Raven Darkholme.
This heroine had many novels. She dated the mutant Victor Creed, from the novelwith whom Mystic had a son. Unfortunately, his mother subsequently had to kill him, as he led an anti-mutant organization.
Later, the heroine takes the mutant Rogue under her wing, but eventually she goes to Professor Xavier. Raven also had a son, Kurt Wagner, with the ancient mutant Azazel. Immediately after the birth, the mother tried to kill him, but the father saved the baby and gave it to foster parents.
Mystique took part in almost all significant events in the war of mutants with people and among themselves. On several occasions, she even had to fake her own death.
Biography Mystic in the movies
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this heroine has a different biography. Mystique (actress Morgan Lily) was abandoned by her parents as a child and had to take care of herself.
Once climbing into a rich house in search of food, she met the young Charles Xavier and stayed with him. Perhaps Raven was in love with her friend, but Xavier did not notice this. Growing up, Mystique (actress Jennifer Lawrence) helped him with everything, but later became infatuated with Magneto's ideas and joined him, leaving Charles. After her arrest, Erika protected the mutants on her own.
When she found out about Trask's project to create robots to hunt people with the X-gene, she killed him, which aggravated the matter.
After Magneto's release, Mystique (actress Rebecca Romijn) faithfully served him until she accidentally received an injection of a vaccine that deprives mutants of their abilities. Having lost her powers, she was abandoned by Eric. In retaliation, Raven gave him awayauthorities.
When the robots designed by Trask began to destroy mutants, Charles and Eric sent Wolverine back in time. He stopped Mystique (actress Jennifer Lawrence) from killing Trask. When she saved the President of the United States from Magneto, she turned into a heroine for everyone. Later, Raven helped defeat Apocalypse and began training young mutants at Xavier's school.
Rebecca Romijn is the actress who played Mystique in X-Men before the reboot
For the first time, Rebecca Romijn, an American of Dutch origin, played Mystic in a movie. She has appeared on TV four times in this image: "X-Men", "X-Men-2", "X-Men: The Last Stand" and in a cameo role in "X-Men: First Class".
Rebecca's fame came from modeling in Paris. After some time, she returned to her homeland and began to host a television program. In parallel, Romaine tried to act in films, but not very successfully. For the first time, having played Mystic ("X-Men"), the actress drew attention to herself - she began to be invited to the main roles. After the release of the second and third parts, Romaine secured the status of a star.
A little later, the actress became interested in working on television and became a regular participant in such famous television series as "Ugly Girl", "Chuck", "King and Maxwell", "Librarians".
Karmen Electra - the actress who played the Mystic in the "Very Epic Movie"
In 2007, the film "A Very Epic Movie" was released. This film comedy satirized the popular films of previous years. The X-Men were no exception. The mystic in this parody was played by Carmen Electra. Most likely, this role was given to her because of the incredible similarity between Carmen and Rebecca Romijn.
Before Raven, the actress played many roles, however, most of them were in television series ("Baywatch", "Soldiers of Fortune") and comedies ("Scary Movie 1, 4", "Movie Date"). Unlike Romaine, for Carmen the role of Mystique was a passing one, but she played it well.
Jennifer Lawrence - Next Generation Mystic
After the reboot of the X-Men epic in 2011, Jennifer Lawrence was invited to play Raven Darkholme. She was Mystique in X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse.
Earlier, the actress starred in television programs and series for several years, but she did not gain much popularity, although she was nominated for an Oscar for the film "Winter's Bone". Perhaps because of this nomination, the producers of X-Men: First Class chose her, looking for a new performer of the role of Mystique. In any case, the actress did a great job, and after this work, her career took off.
In 2012, Jennifer got the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games and performed it in all four films of the epic. During the same period, she starred in the film My Boyfriend Is a Crazy, for which she received an Oscar.
Today, Jennifer Lawrence is incredibly in demand as an actress. Every year, 2-3 large-budget projects with her participation are released. As for the role of Mystique ("X-Men"), the actress officially announced that she was leavingmovie epic.
Recently there have been persistent rumors that it is planned to make a separate film about Mystique. There will be three Marvel movies in 2017: Wolverine 3: Old Man Logan, Gambit and The New Mutants. It is not known for certain whether the character Mystique will appear in them, and who will play her. However, fans do not give up hope that Lawrence will change his mind and return to this role.
