Discovery of new talent

In 1928, Dmitry Zhuravlev discovers another amazing talent in himself. He starts reading poetry. Not just to read, but to inspire and crush listeners with your reading. The audience was delighted. Several bright speeches quickly revealed his lively talent as a speaker.

And it all started with rare readings of works by A. S. Pushkin, A. A. Blok, V. V. Mayakovsky and stories by M. M. Zoshchenko and I. E. Babel. At first it was more of a hobby than a conscious activity. Over time, the artist became more and more fond of this, but continued to consider it only literary pampering. But a keen interest in the recitation of poetry and the presence of a natural gift did their job. Dmitry Nikolaevich is zealously interested in the work of the reader A. Ya. Zakushnyak. It was this, according to the artist himself, that most of all changed his attitude towards poems.

Already at the beginning of his career as a reader, heis fond of poetry by A. Akhmatova and B. Pasternak. One should not think that he was limited only to the Russian literary circle. Zhuravlev actively studies foreign works, and soon he has his favorite selections, which he gladly recites to a stunned public. The circle of his interests included the work of P. Merime and G. Maupassant. He proudly read the poems of his contemporaries: E. Bagritsky, V. Tikhonov, A. Tvardovsky, E. Yevtushenko and A. Voznesensky.

1930 was a special year for Dmitry Nikolaevich, as he performed with his program: "The Bronze Horseman" by A. S. Pushkin, "Out loud" by V. V. Mayakovsky, "Matryonishcha" by M. M. Zoshchenko, "S alt" by I. E. Babel and "Bobok" by F. M. Dostoevsky in the House of Writers. A successful year in 1931 gradually develops into an equally happy year for a creative career. It was in 1931 that the master of the artistic word gives his first personal concert in the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky "Egyptian Nights" and "Autumn".

In 1937, he took second place in the First All-Union competition of reciters. Having finished with this, he immediately shows himself as an excellent film actor and starred in the film Journey to Arzrum. In the tape, he plays the role of A. S. Pushkin. Judging by the reviews of critics and moviegoers, he did an excellent job.

Ten long years later, after being fed up with the works of this author, Dmitry Nikolayevich has a new passion - M. Yu. Lermontov. In the same year, he creates the Lermontov program in two episodes.

He is beginning to be treated with increasing respect. This man conquers the hearts of not only ordinary listeners, but also the "cream" of society. They begin to notice him, and soon he becomes a consultant for many programs. The artist's advice is carefully listened to and they try to follow it exactly.
