Pictures about the struggle of a loner with flagrant injustice are very popular with viewers. However, their plot is completely implausible. An eloquent example is the film "Law Abiding Citizen". Reviews about him are very different. We will present some of them in our article.

The district attorney informs the victim that there is too little evidence against the bandits and they will have to make a deal with one of them. As a result, the killer was sentenced to three years in prison. Shelton is outraged by such a lenient punishment.

After 10 years, the district attorney has to face a chain of incredible events. Those responsible for the death of Sheldon's family die a terrible death. The killer is located quickly. This is Clyde Shelton himself. He became a professional killer, able to turn any, even the most difficult case. The hero dutifully lets himself be put behind bars. However, he later announces that if his conditions are not met, he will start killing without leaving prison. They laugh at him, but it soon becomes clear that these are not empty words…

Review 1: the idea is impressive

The author of this Law Abiding Citizen movie review claims it's almost a great movie. "Almost", because there are too many unplanned accidents in it, which in reality cannot be foreseen. And also because the actions of heroes often lack common sense. However, the concept is impressive. A hero who fights against the system is interesting. The original methods of fighting injustice, the charisma of the main character and the undeniable spectacle made a strong impression on the viewer.

Review 2: Pure Hollywood Picture

This review of Law Abiding Citizen pays tribute to the skill of director Gary Gray. From the first minutes of the action, the audience is given to understand that they have a fierce action in front of them. And everything seems to be fine: explosions are spectacular, murders are sophisticated, the main character is impressive. However, there are still many gaps in the plot. The way in which Sheldon pulls off his machinations is bewildering. Yes, and the implementation of the picture is purely Hollywood. Just think, engineerPunisher threatens the US justice system! Real threat, nothing to say. In a word, the drama of a man who lost his family and entered into battle with corrupt officials did not work out because of an implausible scenario.

He is also amazed by the virtuosic performance of Gerard Butler and calls him one of the best actors of our time.

The viewer liked another important point. The fact is that the main character at the very enddies. And this happens, in fact, through his fault. Clyde Shelton can't stop. He wants revenge and revenge, burning everything in his path. This makes him vulnerable. Hatred is a heavy stone that can take you to the very bottom.

It's hard to believe, but some people dislike Gerard Butler. And it's not about his acting skills. It just happened. However, even this did not prevent the viewer from watching the film we are describing. And he is just delighted. He admires the fact that the main character devoted his life to the fight against the imperfection of the law enforcement system. And he died in this unequal struggle. The acting and storyline are excellent. This is a good movie that everyone should watch.

Review 6: The painting is puzzling

The writer of this review of Law Abiding Citizen (2009) believes it is about people with bad morals. How can one consider a hero a man who shreds his own kind right and left? Why is the public prosecutor not properly punished: after all, he harmed Sheldon no less than evil criminals? What is his moral suffering? In a successful career?

The only strong moment in the film, the viewer considers the performance of the protagonist in court. But this monologue lasts only two minutes. The rest, according to him,pointless action, only good for a one-time watch.

The main character does crazy things, but his every action has an excuse. Sheldon is a kamikaze who has made his choice once and for all. He doesn't want to be happy without his family.

Critic reviews

Reviews from critics about "Law Abiding Citizen" are not the most positive. Some said that the picture is similar to dozens of other, more or less successful films. Others lamented that there was too much unnecessary cruelty in the tape. Still others felt that the acting chemistry between Butler and Fox was not enough to rehabilitate a frankly failed picture. In the review of Ksenia Rozhdestvenskaya ("Gazeta.ru"), it is completely written that there are only two interesting things in the film - the winning appearance of the protagonist and the architectural splendor of the Philadelphia City Hall building. As you can see, the critics turned out to be too strict and did not fully appreciate the drive that permeates this exciting and poignant picture.

Actors and roles

"Law-abiding citizen" rests on the opposition of two strongpersonalities. This is the unfortunate Clyde Sheldon, who has lost his sense of compassion for his neighbor, because life has treated him too cruelly, and the public prosecutor invested with power, Nick Rice. The first was played by Gerard Butler, the second by Jamie Foxx. Both did their roles well. Smart, strong, charismatic, they made this movie unforgettable. It was thanks to them that the film thundered on both sides of the Atlantic and is still in great demand among the audience.

Rice's moral anguish, Sheldon's demonic attacks… You can watch this endlessly! The finale of the picture can be called tragic, but still the impression remains that everyone has fulfilled his duty to the end. The rest of the actors seem to be just extras against the background of two strong professionals. I would like to wish them new interesting work in the theater and cinema.
