In the Soviet Union, not only good comedies were shot, but also excellent detective stories. The USSR gave the world, for example, the best adaptation of a book about Sherlock Holmes. Moreover, the British themselves recognized this and even awarded Vasily Livanov with the Order of the British Empire. But not only this film can be proud of the Country of the Soviets. There are at least five films that are a must-see for any connoisseur of quality cinema.
Detectives of the USSR: list. "The meeting place cannot be changed"
"The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed" is a cult film that continues to be ubiquitously quoted even to this day. This picture has everything that the best detectives of the USSR can be proud of: a sharp plot, exciting pictures of chases and shootings, intricate stories, tough confrontation between gangs and groups.
Initially, according to the script, the selfless and good-natured front-line soldier Sharapov, performed by Vladimir Konkin, was to become the main character of the tape. But already inDuring the filming, it became clear who the real star of this film was.
The central figure of this detective story is the uncompromising Gleb Zheglov, played by Vladimir Vysotsky. The actor starred in the film by Stanislav Govorukhin shortly before his death and even tried to refuse to participate in the project due to poor he alth. But the director nevertheless persuaded him to stay, and this screen work became one of the best in the artist's filmography.
Each time watching the film, the audience with bated breath follows not only the wonderful performance of the actors, but also the work of the experienced operative Zheglov, who is on the heels of the cunning Black Cat gang.
USSR detective films: list. "The Secret of the Blackbirds"
In 1983, director Vadim Derbenev decided to make a film adaptation of one of the works of Agatha Christie. This is how the film "The Secret of the Blackbirds" appeared, which is included in the golden collection called "Detectives of the USSR".
The main character of this on-screen performance is the inimitable Miss Marple, played by Estonian actress Ita Ever. Together with Inspector Neal, the astute Miss Marple tries to unravel the mystery of the mysterious murders that take place in the house of a multimillionaire. Over time, the detective couple has no doubt that the true culprit of everything that happened is one of the family members. But the enemy is too cunning to give himself away. Clinging to minor details, Mrs. Marple still manages to unravel the intruder's intentions.
In this picture, such famous actors were involved,as Vladimir Sedov ("Boris Godunov"), Lyubov Polishchuk ("12 Chairs"), Tamara Nosova ("The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors") and Yuri Belyaev ("Countess de Monsoro").
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson
The best detectives of the USSR are of interest not only in the former Soviet republics, but also abroad. For example, Igor Maslennikov's adaptation of the detective works of Arthur Conan Doyle received the highest rating in the UK.
In 2006, in connection with this, the leading actor (Vasily Livanov) was awarded the Order of the British Empire. Of all the foreign adaptations of the immortal works of the Englishman, the British themselves recognized the Soviet director's film as the most successful and intriguing.
Maslennikov made a total of five films about Sherlock Holmes with a total duration of 766 minutes. The main role was entrusted to Vasily Livanov, who did a wonderful job with it. Sherlock's partner, Dr. Watson, was played by the famous Soviet actor Vitaly Solomin. Also, such celebrities as Nikita Mikhalkov, Oleg Yankovsky, Irina Kupchenko, Borislav Brondukov and Rina Zelenaya were involved in the project.
Experts are investigating
Another cult work of Soviet filmmakers is the detective series "Experts are investigating." The main characters of this film are Znamensky, Kibrit and Tomin, who together unravel the most controversial and intricate cases. Each film is a new story, new criminals and new investigations. Filming took place from 1971 to 2003. But unfortunately, during this periodmany faces in the film crew have changed, so the latest pictures are not as interesting as the series that came out in the 70s. And yet the series "Experts are investigating" remains one of the most popular among fans of detective movies.
Gentlemen of Fortune
Detectives of the USSR are a wide variety of films, the central figures of which are not always valiant policemen. Alexander Sery in 1971 made a picture, the main character of which was an ordinary teacher in a kindergarten.
According to the plot of the film "Gentlemen of Fortune", by an absurd accident, it turns out that an ordinary Soviet citizen Yevgeny Troshkin is like two drops of water like a criminal Associate Professor, who with his gang stole a valuable historical artifact. The modest head of the kindergarten, who has never communicated with criminals in his life, is persuaded by the police to infiltrate the Docent's gang and find out secret information. Troshkin does not even suspect what adventures await him ahead if he agrees to this adventure.
The picture "Gentlemen of Fortune" is good first of all because the story is told about all the events with a fair amount of humor, so 84 minutes of screen time fly by in the blink of an eye.
