In 2016, the drama "Hwarang" started. The writers initially did not claim historical accuracy, telling about the adventures and growing up of beautiful boys. And the first series really showed charming characters with the habits of modern people in the ancient state of Silla. But in the second half, all the parody came to naught, and events took a serious turn.

Who are the Hwarangs

Although the action in the drama differs from what actually happened, but most of the characters have real prototypes.

The word "hwarang" is translated as "blooming youth". In 540, 500 young men of high birth were selected in the state in order to make up the military elite. Young people were taught the art of sword fighting, archery, horseback riding, as well as philosophy and moral values. This was demonstrated by the actors in the drama "Hwarang" (Korea).

King Jin-heung

In the drama "Hwarang: The Beginning", he was played by actor Park Hyung Sik. The lead singer of the youth group ZE:A and a talented artist began his career as a model. He made his debut in 2010 but rose to fame after starring in the mini-drama Sirius. Another memorable appearance took place in "Descendants". He shone in the role of Cho Myung-soo, a sincere and smiling boy. It is noteworthy that immediately after the drama "Hwarang", the actor was offered the main role in the new project "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon". Kese or Son Wu

A country boy came to town with a friend to help him find a family. But the friend was not destined to meet with his family. Kese takes the place of the deceased in order to stay in the city and avenge the death of the one whom he considered his brother. He is forced to become one of the hwarangs, and the love for the named sister completely confuses the guy.

Kim Tae-hyun, lead singer of the popular BTS, did a great job with this role. He is better known by his stage name V. It was the twenty-two year old singer's debut appearance as an actor. In life, Tae Hyun is a very cheerful person. V, along with his classmate Jin, recorded a perky OST for the drama.

Yo Ul

Unfortunately, this is the most unrevealed character in the series. But he was remembered for his wisdom and ability to resolve conflicts peacefully. The role of this hwarang went to actor Jo Yoon Woo. He starred in more than 10 dramas in supporting roles. But thanks to his talent, even insignificant images become memorable.
