Describing the summary of "Two Captains" by Kaverin is an extremely thankless task. This novel should be read not in a short retelling, but in the original, it is painfully well and “tasty” written. And it's good, on the one hand, that he was not included in the school curriculum at one time, otherwise, probably, the children would have received the same disgust for Katya and Sana that many of them feel towards Natasha Rostova.

On the other hand, today's youth often have not heard of such a work at all. But we will now try to correct this shortcoming and try to give a general idea of \u200b\u200bthe novel that Veniamin Kaverin wrote, “Two Captains”. The heroes of the book, despite the time in which the novel was written, do not at all look like convinced fighters for communism and world peace. They are still alive today, unlike numerous characters of the past, and it is quite possible that they will be loved by many more generations of readers.

We will try to embrace the immensity and summarize Kaverin's "Two Captains" as briefly as possible. We won't stopon the episodes, but let's try to go through the "tops", indicating only the epoch-making events and the main plot twists. So let's get started.

Veniamin Kaverin "Two Captains"

The main characters of the work are Sanya Grigoriev and Katya Tatarinova. It is their love that runs through the entire work, so that a certain part of readers may be interested in the book as a romance novel. But Kaverin is not limited to the love line only. In his novel there is both struggle and betrayal, there is stamina and courage of some heroes, cowardice and meanness of others.

But we digress from the topic again. Our task is to write a summary of "The Two Captains" by Kaverin, and not talk about the eternal.

The novel begins with a description of Sanya's childhood years. He lives with his mother and sister in a small provincial town. Sister, strange as it sounds today, is also called Sasha. It happens that children have lost both parents and are threatened with shelter. Not wanting to become an orphanage boy, Sanka, together with his friend Petka Skovorodnikov, runs away from home at night, without informing his neighbor Aunt Dasha, who considered herself responsible for the orphans, about her escape. It was Aunt Dasha who read letters to Sanya in the evenings found in the bag of a drowned postman, not even knowing what role they would play in the fate of our hero.

The boys wanted to get to Moscow first, and then move on to the warm fabulous Tashkent, about which Petka told legends to his friend. It was then that the motto was invented and put into action, which Sanya followed all his life.life: "Fight and seek, find and never give up!".

The guys managed to get to Moscow, despite the difficulties of the way through the country devastated by war and revolution, but in the capital itself they came under a raid. Petka managed to escape, and Sanya was sent to an orphanage to be raised.

It so happened that he became a member of the school director's family, under which his orphanage was kept. The surname of the director was Tatarinov, the widow of his cousin lived with him with her mother Nina Kapitonovna and daughter Katya. Sanya was told that Marya Vasilievna's husband was the captain of the ship "Saint Maria", which disappeared several years ago in the polar ice. Captain Tatarinov hoped to find a northern sea route for his country and prove that it was possible to go by ship from Arkhangelsk to Kamchatka directly. The director, Nikolai Antonovich, presented himself as the captain's benefactor, and the latter's family was sincerely grateful to him.

Sanya did not recognize all this immediately, as fragmentary childhood memories did not immediately connect in his head, when he, with bated breath, listened to Aunt Dasha, who read him letters from the drowned postman's bag, and stories about the brave polar captain. To do this, he needed to understand that he loves Katya, come to Ensk for her, visit Aunt Dasha and his sister and find old letters on the shelf. After rereading them, he realized that fate had mysteriously connected him with the Tatarinov family long before they met, since these were letters from the captain addressed to Marya Vasilievna.

Sanya accuses Nikolai Antonovich ofthat he did not help Captain Tatarinov, but simply sent him to certain death, supplying the expedition with worthless products and equipment. But he has yet to prove it. And then he takes an oath to find the missing expedition.

But how can an orphanage boy who is just finishing school do this? To find out, you need to read the book in its entirety, and not just skim through the summary of Kaverin's "Two Captains". Katya and Sanya face many trials. Sanya enters a flight school, wants to go to the North, but the war interferes, and instead of a polar pilot, he becomes a military man and goes to beat the Nazis. And Katya, after graduating from the Faculty of Geology, moves to Leningrad, where she is caught by the blockade. Having recovered from a serious injury, Sanya begins to look for Katya, and she, not knowing anything about the fate of her beloved, is also looking for him. They pass in their search along parallel streets, not knowing that their meeting is postponed indefinitely. And only after the war, Sana manages to keep her oath and find the missing expedition of her wife's father.
