The Drama Theater (Saratov) has existed since the beginning of the 19th century. Many great actors have worked on his stage. The repertoire consists of both performances based on classical works and performances based on plays by contemporary Russian and foreign authors.
History of the theater
The Drama Theater named after Slonov (Saratov) was founded in 1803. The second half of the 19th century was marked by the fact that this city began to be considered the cultural and theatrical capital of the Volga region. O. Yankovsky Festival
The Drama Theater (Saratov) has been holding a festival named after the outstanding actor Oleg Yankovsky since 2011. Within its framework, conferences, meetings with prominent figures of art and culture, book presentations, anniversary evenings, premieres of documentaries, performances, opening of various exhibitions are held. Special guests of the festival at different times were: Konstantin Raikin, Alexei Kravchenko, Inna Churikova, Philip and Rostislav Yankovsky, E. Mironov, A. Sbruev, Maxim Matveev, Viktor Verzhbitsky, Marina Zudina and others.
Various troupes come to the festival in Saratov (Drama Theatre). The poster of the festival offers viewers viewing productions: the Moscow Regional Youth Theater, the Moscow Art Theater named after A. P. Chekhov, Novokuibyshev Studio "Fringe", Pyotr Fomenko Workshop, "Micro" (Jerusalem), Konstantin Raikin's School, and others.
