Dostoevsky (the summary still cannot convey this in full) creates a special world, plunging into which you begin to actively experience and sympathize with the hero.

Dostoevsky's novel "The Gambler" is not so much social, that is, showing the harmful effects of gambling houses, as philosophical, conceptual.
