Despite a long track record, Anthony is most likely to be remembered by Russian audiences for his role as the pedantic Englishman Rupert Giles, the caretaker and mentor of the vampire winner named Buffy from the eponymous series.

The actor was born on February 20, 1954. His hometown is Camden Town in London. The head of the family, Seafield Head, worked on documentary films, being both a director and a producer. The actor's mother, Helen, led a successful career as an actress. Anthony is not the only child of his parents, he has an older brother named Murray, who also pursued the path of acting and music.

Six years after Anthony was born, his entire family moved from Camden Town to the Hamptons.

Early career

Anthony Head received his education in London, graduating from the local Academy of Music and Drama. Hishis career began with the musical Godspell, after which local channels began to invite him to various television shootings. In the early 80s, the man performed with the bands RedBox and Two Way, being the vocalist.

For several years, Anthony was the main face of the Nescafe advertising campaign, playing in a series of commercials about coffee. He started his way to the USA with small roles in various series, among which was the popular at that time show "Highlander". His major breakthrough came in 1997 with the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which Anthony starred as the protagonist's caretaker and mentor.

From the very beginning, his character, a pedantic Englishman named Rupert Giles, joined the regular cast, where he remained for the first five seasons. All subsequent seasons Anthony Head appeared sporadically. The actor explained his decision by his desire to visit his homeland, where he had a family, as often as possible.

Making music

In addition to playing in the theater and filming in films, Anthony Head managed to work on his own musicalalbum. The project was called Music for Elevators and was released in February 2002. The album also had a hand in such personalities as composer George Sarah and Head's colleagues in the film "Buffy" - Alison Hanigan, Amber Benson, James Marsters and Joss Whedon. In November 2004, the actor became the host of a documentary program called "Real Horrors".
