Katherine Town was born on July 17, 1978 in Los Angeles (California, USA). She was destined for a career as a screenwriter, as she is the only daughter of renowned Academy Award-winning screenwriter Robert Towne. Young Katherine soon realized that, although she had some makings of a writer, her true calling was in acting. She followed in the footsteps of her mother, actress Julie Payne.
