Korean "star factory" continues to regularly delight fans of pop music. Of greatest interest is the work of boy bands targeted at a teenage audience.

Seventeen is a group of young artists who became popular thanks to the Pledis Entertainment project. The list of stars of this talent agency includes famous singer Song Dambi, boy band NU'EST and girl band After School.

Representatives of the label announced the creation of a new team in 2012. The boy band, which was originally planned to have seventeen members, was going to be introduced in 2013. The concept involved the division into three subgroups focused on Japan, Korea and China.

Preparing for debut

The biography of the Seventeen group began with a reality show. Watching the rehearsals of all team members, the audience managed to choose their favorite performers. It was a well-thought-out move by Pledis Entertainment, as the group already had thousands of female fans at the time of their debut in 2015.

In the veryAt the beginning of the show, it became known that not all seventeen young people would be included in the main lineup of Seventeen. The group was supposed to consist of thirteen people, who, after five seasons of reality, were chosen by audience voting.

Premier

As we have already said, the label carefully considered the debut of Seventeen. The Korean group performed for the first time on May 27, 2015 as part of the MBC Show Champion, two days later the 17 CARAT mini-album and the music video of Adore U were released.

Due to the division into three sub-groups, each artist was able to show their talents. The Performance Team (Hoshi, Dino, Jun, and THE8) is in charge of the dance part of the show, along with Vocal (Joshua, Seungkwan, Jonghan, and DeKay) and Hip Hop (Mingyu, Wonwoo, S.coups, and Vernon).

S.coups and Wonwoo

During the reality show, viewers gradually got to know the upcoming artists of Seventeen. The Korean group, whose songs are known all over the world today, does not consist of newcomers. Leader Choi Seung Chul, or S.coups, has been featured in several TV shows and music videos.

It's no secret that Seungchul is the oldest of the members (he was 20 at the time of his debut). For this reason, from the very beginning he was nicknamed Daddy. He always strives to organize the other guys.

S.coups sees herself as a role model, trying to train more and look strong. The singer has a black belt in taekwondo. He loves to read and dreams of meeting a girl who cooks great.

Jung Wonwoo also works in the Hip Hop subgroup,or simply Wonwoo, the main rapper of the group. The 21-year-old artist is seriously interested in poetry, which is eloquently indicated by five notebooks completely filled with verses. Wonwoo dreams of performing one of his pieces during the group's performance.

The young man considers himself a little lazy and loves to dress fashionably. In the past, he was an anti-fan of Girls' Generation, which he now regrets.

Mingyu and Vernon

From the first season, the audience paid attention to the hip-hop direction of Seventeen. The line-up is hard to imagine without the other two members, Vernon and Mingyu.

Vernon is the stage name of Choi Han Sol, who is one of the youngest artists in the team. He is fluent in Korean and English because he was born in New York. When Vernon was five years old, his family moved to South Korea.

Among all the members of the boy band, Han Sol is considered a shy sweet tooth. He collects hats and is seriously interested in fashion. The artist dreams of meeting a girl with beautiful legs, learning to read minds and becoming a billionaire in ten years, which is quite real, performing in Seventeen.

The hip-hop group wouldn't be complete without Kim Ming-kyu, who has been given the nicknames Home Cleaner and Hair Master. She loves to walk, sleep and eat, and can also repair any equipment in the house or rehearsal room.

After reading Mingyu's profile, Russian fans have hopes. The singer dreams of seeing a girl with long blond hair next to him, not Korean and notAsian (agree, the perfect portrait of a Russian beauty).

Hoshi and Dino

From the Hip-Hop team to the Seventeen dancers. The Korean group, whose biography began in 2015, must definitely show a show with spectacular choreography.

The leader of the performance group was Kwon Sunyoung, or Hoshi. He monitors not only the perfect execution of all invented movements and scenes, but also the mood of the entire team. Hoshi admits that only a few sweatpants can withstand constant rehearsals.

The main dancer attracts fans with his platinum hair and perfect physique. The questionnaire also says about Hoshi's unusual hobby - collecting strange photos of colleagues from Seventeen.

The group whose members belong to Performance has its own fan club. The favorite of all girls is Dino, or Lee Chang, touches only the fact that the dancer sleeps in an embrace with soft toys. Dino is the shortest member of the team (his height is only 170 centimeters).

Lee Chan loves the work of Michael Jackson, spends his free time watching movies. The artist had no doubts about his desire to work in Seventeen, because for several years he has been a fan of EXO.

The8 and Jun

Another blond in the Performance subgroup is Su Minghao, or The8. As we have already said, the project is focused on several countries at once. For example, Minhao represents China. The artist is fond of martial arts, and on stage he has no equal in breakdancing. SomeReminds fans of The8 of EXO's Chanyeol.

However, Su Minghao is not the only foreigner on the team. Weng Junhui is also from China. Jun plays the piano beautifully and is fond of wushu. The dancer always has snacks with him.

Weng is seriously studying acting - he has already demonstrated his talents during the filming of the Chinese films Children's War and The Pye Dog.

Wooji, Seungkwan and Dogyeom

Composer and leader of the vocalists - Li Zhihong. Ready to work around the clock in Uji's studio. The artist has a rather difficult character. During the reality show, viewers noted the "evil" language and a slightly aloof facial expression, but for a Scorpio, this is quite normal. Wooji has never dated girls and is a great guitar and piano player. The artist dreams of meeting Justin Bieber.

Wooji's main team members are Lee Seokmin and Boo Seungkwan. Before the launch of the project, Seokmin (stage name Dogyeom) was the last on the list of invitees. In an interview with a popular publication, he admitted that at first he felt very uncomfortable and lonely, but quickly found a common language with future colleagues. Dokyeom is considered the biggest prankster in Seventeen.

Korean band, American food - Boo Seungkwan's devoted love for hamburgers is known to every fan. The 18-year-old member of the team has the most nicknames and loves to play tricks on others. He is closest to Han Sol.

Seungkwan's talent didn't escape the label's competitors -JYP Entertainment offered him a lucrative contract but was turned down. Next to him, the young man wants to see an attractive companion with a light character, who would become his best friend.

Johan and Joshua

The Vocal team has five members, but the long-haired youth Yoon Jeonghan is the one that attracts the most attention. The aspiring singer loves to play football, badminton and basketball. As you know, the members of the boy band are prohibited from having novels under the contract, so they can only dream of ideal girls. Johan wants to see next to him a kind and sweet beauty with an explosive character, eight years younger than himself.

The reality show showed the development of relationships within Seventeen. The group brought together talented young people - some found like-minded people, while others - true friends. The first person Yoon Jonghan met and became close to was Hong Jisoo (Joshua).

Lead vocalist Joshua lived in the US until he was 19, so he is fluent in both English and Korean. By a lucky chance, the young man ended up at the festival, where he successfully passed the casting for the group.

Jisoo considers vocals and playing the guitar to be his strong point. The list of favorite artists includes Tupac, Chris Brown, Eminem and Usher, as well as Korean artists 2BieS. The young singer is considered an “exemplary boy” because in the States he regularly went to a Christian church on Sundays.
