Modern fables, as a rule, do not differ much from those that were presented to readers many centuries ago. This direction in literature arose quite a long time ago, but its essence has always been to educate a person, to direct his thoughts in the right direction. It is impossible not to note a certain philosophical meaning in many fabled works. However, the basis of any such creativity was an artistic composition.

Past wisdom in modern processing

Modern fables are based on past motifs. If we consider, for example, Aesop, who is considered the founder of all fabled works, we can see that the same notes are present in his work. Every modern writer of his time tried to remake the old meaning into a new one, more suitable for people, but at the same time, its content remained unchanged. So, Krylov offered his readers Aesop's fables, but in poetic form. And he also slightly changed their essence in order to ridicule a certain negative quality common amonginhabitants of that reality.

A new concept in modern fables

Modern fables, unlike classical ones, despite the fact that they are too similar, still have one, but significant difference. It lies in the fact that contemporary writers use in their works such a concept as human society in general and the individual in particular. Previously, it was not customary to use people in fables, because they appeared in a negative way. Today's society has a more democratic approach to reading literature, it can laugh at itself. If earlier any individual features were ridiculed, usually they were depicted in the form of certain animals, today the meaning can be called more understandable. In principle, you can even abandon the moral at the end of the work, since it is clear as day.

The use of the natural world in contemporary fables

If modern fables contain animals or insects, then they, as a rule, are not isolated from society. In most cases, their meaning, as well as their presence in the work, should be taken literally, not looking for certain author's allegories. However, it is not uncommon for both the animal and human worlds to be used simultaneously. This is often necessary in order to create a comic effect, to show how much nature differs from people.

Irony in modern fables

Recently, the fables of modern authors have acquiredanother distinguishing feature. Previously, it was impossible to distort the meaning of a good beginning, the final victory over evil. Today, the boundaries have become so blurred that writers can use irony in their works. Based on this, one can easily explain the fact that in modern fable art there are works that have nothing to do with teaching. On the contrary, they are odes to fools, thieves or, for example, dishonest politicians. But the essence is clear, because sometimes it is much easier to understand satire than the thoughts of great philosophers or scientists.

Examples of authors and works themselves

It's worth being a little more specific and talking about who is currently writing fables. For the most part, these people are not professional authors at all - they only pour out on paper what has accumulated over a certain time, giving it meaning and irony. Consequently, the main part of modern fabulists remains unknown, and works are distributed via the Internet. As an example, we can cite such fables as "One Georgian fable", "Bear on rails" and others. But there are also well-known authors, like Olesya Emelyanova or Pavel Rupasov. They enriched modern literature with the works "Hare Heritage", "The Goat and the Nightingale" and others.

In a word, modern fables with morals contain the same meaning as several centuries ago, but with the addition of some elements that were dictated by the time. These new qualities and details, in fact, reflect the current literary art. The authors justthey simply interpret the past thoughts of great and intelligent people so that they are understandable to the modern reader.
