You will learn about this from this article.
Childhood
Andrey Smolyakov was born in 1958, on November 24, in the city of Podolsk, Moscow Region. He grew up in a simple Soviet family, where his father worked in the fire department, and his mother worked as a teacher. At the age of three, Andrei suffered from meningitis. After a serious illness, the doctors forbade the boy from any serious exercise. However, Smolyakov ignored all medical restrictions and began to play sports. Until the age of seventeen, the boy played volleyball professionally and was even invited to various teams. In addition, Andrei performed as part of a vocal and instrumental ensemble, took part in a reading competition, and was a member of an unspoken youth team that read greetings and chants at various party conferences. Futureactor Andrei Smolyakov spent his childhood in the fire department, where his father worked. On the ground floor there was a garage for fire trucks, and on the second floor lived the families of firefighters. The boys were looking forward to their fathers returning from their next assignment, because they were allowed to wash the car with a hose. Even tomboys liked to climb an abandoned tower as high as a five-story building in order to admire the Moscow fireworks on Victory Day. Andrei did not dream of becoming an actor. The boy saw himself as a neurosurgeon, attended the "Young Medic" circle, and seriously prepared for the entrance exams to a medical university. However, fate decreed otherwise.
Student years
Once Smolyakov saw an advertisement in the newspaper about the admission of students to the theater school. What prompted the young man to try his hand at this competition is unknown. Andrei Igorevich himself claims that before starting his studies at the Shchukin School, he had never visited a drama theater. Nevertheless, Smolyakov passed all the stages of the entrance exams with honor and, unexpectedly for himself, turned out to be a student at the B. V. Shchukin Theater School. Three years later, Andrei decided to transfer to the State Institute of Theater Arts, now the famous GITIS, to the course of O. Tabakov. The reason for this act was the desire of the future actor to learn from the recognized master of Soviet cinema. Andrey Smolyakov, whose biography is full of unexpected turns in fate and career, made the right choice. The young man graduated from GITIS in 1980.

During this period, Oleg Tabakov himself did not tire of praising the actor. The famous director called him an artist who did not have to prove anything. And he claimed that Andrei would always find a place in his studio. The role of Mowgli was a turning point in the fate of Smolyakov. The fact is that the rector of the Shchukin School forbade the student to visit the studio, located in the basement, under the guidance of the dubious Tabakov. The young man had two weeks to think. Andrey made a choice in favor of GITIS. Blue-eyed and fair-haired "Mowgli" at first did not like the rest of the participants in the production. But Smolyakov quickly proved that he was a super talented actor, and managed to win a worthy place among the students of Oleg Pavlovich.
