Biography

Nikolai Plotnikov is an actor, director and teacher. Date of birth according to different sources is different: October 23 or 24, 1897. His father worked as a hairdresser. The boy studied at the gymnasium in the city of Vyazma until the sixth grade. In 1910, tragic events took place in the family, and Kolya was sent by his aunt to study in another city. Nikolai's mother fell ill from an illness, his father had a heart failure. Died, sister could not cope with the shock.

Aunt sent Kolya to Petersburg. There the boy lived with his uncle Sergei Ivanovich Kushchenko. Sergei Ivanovich worked as a director in typolithography. There were many artists in the Plotnikov family, little Kolya also got the gift of drawing. At first, the boy studied in typolithography, where he performed various assignments. For example, he went to the grocery store, made tea for the craftsmen, and did the cleaning in the workshop. Later, Nikolai Plotnikov studied at a drawing school.

In 1915, Nikolai left for the capital, entered Mashistov's typolithography. Here he received his first order. Nikolai had to come up with and draw a label for chocolate. The order was forthe current factory called "Red October". Among his works are also advertising posters for beer factories and labels for candies of the current Bolshevik, at that time it was called the Sioux factory. The salary increased significantly, and Plotnikov could afford a lot.

In the spring of 1916 he was drafted into the army. Nikolai was assigned to Rostov-on-Don to study at a corporal school. After that, I decided to go back again to Mashistov's lithography. For two years since 1918 he studied at the Moscow Art Theater Studio.

Since 1920 Nikolai Sergeevich Plotnikov started his creative activity in the city of Vyazma. He took part in the folk theater troupe. Awards and merit

In 1972 and 1977 he was awarded two orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. At the All-Union Film Festival he was awarded for the best male role in the film "Your Contemporary".

A street in the city of Vyazma was named in his honor. There is also a movie made about him called"Nikolai Sergeevich Plotnikov". After his death, a memorial plaque was opened in the theater where Plotnikov began his career.
