The hero of this article, Honored and People's Artist of Russia Sergei Makovetsky, is one of the most outstanding and memorable personalities of Russian cinema. People who know this amazing actor closely speak of him as a soft and pliable man-"clay", who can easily and absolutely naturally play any role in any genre. And we will soon be able to verify this for ourselves, as soon as we begin to study a long list of films with Makovetsky.
Short biography of the actor
The birthplace of Sergei Vasilyevich was a suburb of Kyiv, where on the picturesque bank of the Dnieper River there was a holiday village Darnitsa, in which he appeared on an unlucky date - June 13, 1958, which, it would seem, determined his entire future personal and acting fate forever doubting everything, including his own undoubted talent, a man.
As a boy, Sergei grew up active and athletic, he was fond of figure skating and water polo, according to which he was one step away from enrolling in the national team. However, the mother, raising her son alone, somehow managed to dissuade him from big-time sports, and then fate in the form of a domineering foreign language teacher herself pushed Sergei to the acting profession, by order of assignment, assigning him to the school theater group. It was in it that the eighth-grader Makovetsky, whose list of films today exceeds eight dozen works in the cinema and will be presented in this article a little later, first appeared on the stage. It was the scene of the school theater circle that brought the future famous actor the first rapture from entering the image of a hero.
After graduating from school, Sergei's dreams of acting initially suffered a number of setbacks, but in the end his struggle with circumstances was over, and he entered the Shchukin Theater School, the only specialized educational institution in which he was accepted …
Filmography

A miracle happened already in 1982 - the novice actor was given a chance to try himself by the Odessa film studio, entrusting him with a small role of Alexander Proletkin in the three-part TV movie "Take Alive", dedicated to the harsh everyday life of Soviet intelligence officers inyears of the Great Patriotic War.

About freaks and people
The first in the chronology of outstanding works of our today's hero is the dramatic and scandalous film "About Freaks and People", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1998.
The picture tells the story of the main character - the owner of the photo studio Johann, whose role was brilliantly played by Sergei Makovetsky. The basement of Johann's studio is a kind of indescribable theater of the absurd with naked human animals being used to shoot hardcore erotic photos.
Outside the window of the hero of the film, the monotonous crazy days of the early twentieth century hang, and inside the atelier, Johann writes his bitter story about the terrible nature of mankind over and over again, turning ordinary people into lustful freaks over and over again…

In the film "Liquidation", Makovetsky brilliantly played the image of Fima, a semi-Jew, in the civilized life of Efim Arkadyevich Petrov, a former pickpocket, and now a friend of the main character of the film, Lieutenant Colonel David Markovich Gotsman.
Fima performed by Makovetsky turned out to be absolutely charming and real. The actor so brilliantly embodied in the image of his hero all the Odessa flavor and Jewish charisma that it is simply impossible to imagine any other, even a very famous actor in his place. What are only the brilliant phrases and dialogues of Fima performed by the actor:
