Darren was lucky to study at one of the most prestigious schools in America. His parents tried to give him a good education. Many other children could only dream of studying at the Edward Marow School. After graduation, Darren Aronofsky traveled to Guatemala, European countries, and the Middle East for six months. Then in 1987 he became a student at Harvard University, where he really enjoyed studying. And no wonder, because there were such disciplines as animation, cinema, as well asanthropology. In the early 90s, he created his first movie, which became his term paper. It was called "Supermarket Cleaning". In 1991, for this short film, Darren received the US Film Academy Student Award. A little later, at the university, Aronofsky created another tape called "Fortune Cookies." It was shortly before release. By the way, Darren graduated with honors from the university and became a Bachelor of Arts. By this time, he had already achieved some success and could well be proud of himself.

After 12 months, Aronofsky moved to Los Angeles to enroll at the US Film Institute to study directing. And again, his successful graduation work should be noted - a small tape called "Protozoa". In 1993, Aronofsky received a Master of Fine Arts.

Director's work

After a couple of years, Darren began work on a full-length tape called "Pi". It happened already in New York. The film "Pi" by Darren Aronofsky turned out to be very unusual and original, and in 1998 it was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. The director, of course, was awarded, and his film made $3.2 million at the box office. Thus, Aronofsky was able to repay his debts and began to think about creating the next picture.

2000 was marked by the release of the director's second full-fledged film, which was called Requiem for a Dream. It was based on the work of the same name. Ellen Burstyn, who appeared in this film as a mother, was awarded an Oscar, but lost the statuetteJulia Roberts. The tape has been awarded several times and received many awards. Of course, all Darren Aronofsky films are good, but this one definitely stands out from the rest.

Working on the next movie wasn't easy for the director. Initially, $ 70 million was assigned to create the painting "Fountain", containing elements of fantasy and philosophy. The main roles were given to Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt. But soon the shooting had to be stopped, as the latter refused to participate. Darren Aronofsky was able to resume work on the tape only in 2004, he invited Hugh Jackman to star. As for the main female role, the director's girlfriend named Rachel Weiss was assigned to her.

The picture "The Wrestler", released in 2008, can be considered the most successful for Aronofsky - critics met her with open arms. The story of an elderly wrestler named Randy Robinson, commonly referred to as "The Ram", won the Venice Film Festival's top prize, the Golden Lion.
