The name Gilderoy also characterizes the character in the best possible way, it is pretentious and pretentious, besides, it belongs to the famous robber, the hero of Scottish ballads. The translation of "Rosman" turned Lockhart into Lockhart, which, however, also sounds mannered and frivolous. Unfortunately, it soon becomes clear to everyone that Zlatopust Lokons can only dress up and speak in an ornate way, and practical magic is his frankly weak side. At the very first lesson, having conquered the girls with refined manners and boasting, Lockons could not cope with his own task. The teacher let the Cornish pixies out of the cage to show the students how to subdue them. But pixies are cunning and dexterous creatures, Lockons could not calm them down and shamefully left the class, leaving the children to solve this problem.

The hero is not revealed from the best side

Since then wheneverthere is a need to show magical professionalism, Lockons reveals his incompetence. However, this does not prevent the writer from confidently giving advice to others and talking about his own outstanding talent.

When Harry broke his arm while playing Quidditch, Lockhart tried to demonstrate his virtuosity and heal him by repairing the fracture. But as a result of the Golden Hollow Lokons spell, Harry Potter lost the bones in his hand altogether. In the dueling club, at the very first meeting, Professor Severus Snape easily disarms the narcissistic Zlatopust.

Soon, all the inhabitants of Hogwarts understand that Lokons, although he is a star in the world of magic, is in fact an absolutely empty and stupid person. Even the books in which he supposedly describes his exploits and adventures turn out to be fake.

False Hero Revealed

The only spell that Lokons confidently wields is the oblivion spell. The false hero used it to appropriate other people's merits and glory. Falsehood has become so second nature to this character that he cannot stop and begins to brag that he supposedly understood for a long time what the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets is. And only when the lie goes too far, and others require the writer to take specific actions that he is not capable of, the hero tries to escape.

As a result, Zlatopust will still have to answer for his words and deeds. The story of the charlatan Lockons ends with a fair ending - he was let down by his own meanness and narrow-mindedness. Wand of Zlatopust Lokons,which he took from Ron, acts against him when he tries to cast an oblivion spell, after which the hero loses his mind and ends up in St. Mungo's hospital.

The actor who played the character

The role of the eccentric writer was played by the wonderful British actor Kenneth Branagh. It is interesting that Hugh Grant was first approved for this role, but the actor had to give in. I must say, the fans of the saga did not regret it, because the Briton did an excellent job with the acting task.
