JK Rowling's beloved magical boy adventure saga has been masterfully brought to the screen. The characters in the books were convincingly played by professional and budding actors. In the second part of the story, called "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", an odious personality is introduced into the plot - the famous wizard and writer Zlatopust Lokons.

Character Creation Story

In the original, the name of the hero sounds like Gilderoy Lokhart. J. K. Rowling admitted that the image of Lockons was written off from a specific person, although she did not specify from which one. The writer met the surname Lokhart at a war memorial and decided that it sounded rather frivolous and suited the personality of the hero. The name Gilderoy also characterizes the character in the best possible way, it is pretentious and pretentious, besides, it belongs to the famous robber, the hero of Scottish ballads. The translation of "Rosman" turned Lockhart into Lockhart, which, however, also sounds mannered and frivolous. Gilderoy became Golden Hollow, which simultaneously indicates the golden curls of the character and shows how empty he is at heart.

For the first time, viewers meet the handsome Lokons at the Flourish and Blotts bookstore, where Hogwarts students buy textbooks. The famous writer presents his new bestseller there, signs autographs and takes pictures with pleasure. Noticing Harry Potter in the queue, he decides to take advantage of the good moment to add to his popularity. Zlatopust defiantly gives the boy a complete collection of his works and poses with him for the press.

Character charm and popularity among women

Harry's charm is not affected by the Goldilocks, as well as his friend Ron. However, the magnetism of Zlatopust Lokons is so strong that young ladies of all ages simply adore him. Even the clever Hermione cannot resist the charm of his dazzling smile, as well as the sensible Mrs. Weasley. It turns out that they have read absolutely all the works of their favorite writer: Encounters with Vampires, Defeating Ghosts, Fun with Ghouls and many other stories about how the famous wizard faced dangers and heroically overcame them.

In pursuit of fame, Lockons did not shy away from deceit: he staged his mysterious disappearance. Returning after some time, the hero effectively appeared in public with a story about adventures held captive by trolls. There is no mention of the family of Zlatopust Lokons either in the book or in the film.

Teaching the hero in the school of magic

With the beginning of the school year, the vain narcissus Goldenpust appears at Hogwarts to take the place of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Potter fans know that this vacancy from book to book, from film to film, passes from one teacher to another. It's no wonder the teachers don't stick around, since the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher has been cursed by the Dark Lord himself. Zlatopust Lockons hardly knew about it.

His self-confidence leads to him appearing in front of his students. This man knows how to present himself effectively. He assumes majestic poses, bares his teeth in a charming smile and expertly styles his hair. He also speaks fluently, especially about himself. Lockons' favorite pastimes are: taking care of his appearance, participating in photo shoots, signing autographs and meeting fans. Zlatopust boasts of a list of awards.

Lockons' first lesson

Unfortunately, it soon becomes clear to everyone that Zlatopust Lokons can only dress up and speak in an ornate way, and practical magic is his frankly weak side. At the very first lesson, having conquered the girls with refined manners and boasting, Lockons could not cope with his own task. The teacher let the Cornish pixies out of the cage to show the students how to subdue them. But pixies are cunning and dexterous creatures, Lockons could not calm them down and shamefully left the class, leaving the children to solve this problem.

The hero is not revealed from the best side

Since then wheneverthere is a need to show magical professionalism, Lockons reveals his incompetence. However, this does not prevent the writer from confidently giving advice to others and talking about his own outstanding talent.

When Harry broke his arm while playing Quidditch, Lockhart tried to demonstrate his virtuosity and heal him by repairing the fracture. But as a result of the Golden Hollow Lokons spell, Harry Potter lost the bones in his hand altogether. In the dueling club, at the very first meeting, Professor Severus Snape easily disarms the narcissistic Zlatopust.

Soon, all the inhabitants of Hogwarts understand that Lokons, although he is a star in the world of magic, is in fact an absolutely empty and stupid person. Even the books in which he supposedly describes his exploits and adventures turn out to be fake.

False Hero Revealed

The only spell that Lokons confidently wields is the oblivion spell. The false hero used it to appropriate other people's merits and glory. Falsehood has become so second nature to this character that he cannot stop and begins to brag that he supposedly understood for a long time what the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets is. And only when the lie goes too far, and others require the writer to take specific actions that he is not capable of, the hero tries to escape.

As a result, Zlatopust will still have to answer for his words and deeds. The story of the charlatan Lockons ends with a fair ending - he was let down by his own meanness and narrow-mindedness. Wand of Zlatopust Lokons, which he took from Ron, acts against him when he tries to cast an oblivion spell, after which the hero loses his mind and ends up in St. Mungo's hospital.

The role of the eccentric writer was played by the wonderful British actor Kenneth Branagh. It is interesting that Hugh Grant was first approved for this role, but the actor had to give in. I must say, the fans of the saga did not regret it, because the Briton did an excellent job with the acting task.

Kenneth Charles Branagh was born in Northern Ireland in 1960. Bran's family was not rich, he led a simple life, he was the youngest son in the family. Therefore, he should not have hoped for a good education. However, his stage talent manifested itself at school, and soon acting became a dense part of Kenneth's life.

After leaving school, a talented young man entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London with brilliance. A capable student was even awarded a scholarship. After graduating from the Academy, Kenneth Branagh, who received a gold medal for excellent studies, began to look for himself on the stage. The debut was successful - the young man even received a prestigious award, the Laurence Olivier Award, as the best young actor. At the same time, Kenneth begins a career in television and film. The first few works did not bring fame to the actor, but the hardworking and gifted young man has already chosen his path.

Success

Success came to the actor after the release of his film "Henry V", in which he also played a roleking. For his work in the film, Kenneth Branagh was awarded the BAFTA and the prize of the National Council of Film Critics of the United States. After this kind of debut, they started talking about the actor. Over the next few years, he filmed and staged several more works by Shakespeare.

Five years later, Kenneth received the prestigious Emmy award for his participation in the film "Conspiracy". Real popularity came to Kenneth after the premiere of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The talented Irish captivated the audience. He perfectly played the role of Professor Zlatopust Lockons. The actor also knew several co-stars on the set.

It is interesting that Kenneth's ex-wife, Emma Thompson, plays the role of Professor Trelawney in the movie saga. With Helena Bonham Carter, who got the role of Bellatrix, Kenneth also once had a romantic relationship.

Ups and downs

It cannot be said that Kenneth Branagh's creative path consists entirely of success and awards. Several unsuccessful projects, such as the role of the villain in the film "Wild Wild West" or the comedy "Love's Labour's Lost" that did not pay off at the box office, did not stop Bran's creative inspiration. For his work in the film Wild, Wild West, the actor was even nominated for the Golden Raspberry anti-award, but this only spurred his creative passion.

He took part in such successful projects as "Wallander", "Thor", "As You Like It", "Cinderella", and filmed Agatha Christie's novel "Murder on the Orient Express". Kenneth has established himself not only as a wonderful actor, but also as a theater director andcinema, as well as a producer and even a screenwriter. For his outstanding service in this field, Branagh was nominated four times for an Oscar.

Actor now

The actor is currently happily married to Lindsey Brannock and has far-reaching creative plans. He continues to act in films and play in the theater. His director's chair is also not empty. It is known that soon the audience will see another adaptation of the detective Agatha Christie's "Death on the Nile". In this film, Kenneth Branagh will act as a producer, director and main character.
