The discography of "The Blue Bird" begins with the album of the same name, released in 1977. To avoid confusion, fans of the ensemble often called the album "Mom's Record" - after the name of the title track. But in 1996, one of the separated compositions of the VIAreleased the disc "Mom's Record", and now music lovers call the album simply - "The Blue Bird of 1977". Among the eleven songs recorded on the debut "long-play" songs, in addition to those already mentioned, included such hits as "Maple", "Non-flying weather" and "Hello, song".

From heart to heart

In his work, VIA "Blue Bird" was largely guided by The Beatles, which is noticeable in the design of the first albums. And if the picture taken on the transition for the 1977 record only indirectly hints at the Abbey Road of the Liverpool Four, then the cover of the 1978 disc "From Heart to Heart" is a clear allusion to the debut Beatle Please Please Me. The mood is similar to The Beatles and the compositions included in this album, lyrical and naive, of which most of all the listeners remember "This is a mistake", "Between me and you", as well as the title track.

Alone with myself

Brightly decorated with the image of the group's symbol - a fabulous blue bird - in 1980 the third studio album, "Alone with Myself", was released. It is curious that the composer and poet Sergei Dyachkov, the main member of another Soviet rock band, "Flowers" took part in the creation of all the songs (previously, the album included compositions by different authors). For the record, the songs "Mom's Record", which had already become hits, were again performed,"Buy Me a Balloon", as well as new compositions.

My love is alive

A significant place in the discography of the "Blue Bird" is occupied by the 1981 album "My love is alive". It is enough to even look at its cover: the disc was being prepared for export, and therefore for the first time the titles were written in both Russian and English. Almost all the songs from this disc remain VIA hits to this day: "So that's what you are", "The Eighth Miracle", "The Last Letter", "It's Not a Clear Dawn" and others.

The only live album in the main discography of "Blue Bird" is recorded during a performance at Luzhniki in 1983. On this disc, for the first time in LP format, fans could hear the songs "White Ship", "Take Care of Women" and "I'm Coming to Meet You", which do not lose popularity to this day. In total, the composition included 9 tracks. The cover design also arouses genuine interest: the main members of the band rush up on the wings of an iron bird - as a symbol of their musical progressiveness and modernity.

The 1986 record "Autumn Etude" occupies a special place in the discography of "The Blue Bird". This is the first concept album not only for the band, but for all of Soviet rock.that time. All songs are interconnected by a common theme and an invisible story, imbued with the same mood, like an integral, indivisible work. Significant compositions of the album: "Our summer is gone", "Your dream", "And I ask you about it", "Autumn etude", "Leaf fall".

In 1987, an album called "Underground" was released. It was not as successful as its predecessor, and many fans noticed a decline in the enthusiasm of the artists. This was the first call to the imminent collapse of the VIA. At the same time, some songs from this disc remain recognizable. These are "Someday", "Hello, how do you live?", "I'm not me without you" and "Childhood". This album also contains a tribute song to French pop star Edith Piaf.

The discography of "The Blue Bird" ended with the 1988 album "White Pier". After the release of this record, the ensemble existed for another three years, but only as part of concert activities.

After 1991, 6 more albums were released under the authorship of "Blue Bird". However, they were created and recorded by different groups, collected by former members of the VIA and retaining their former name. To get acquainted with these albums, you should look for the discography of the groups "Blue Bird of Alexei Komarov", "Blue Bird of Sergei Drozdov" or othersparticipants who took with them a piece of the famous VIA.
