Felix Antipov is a famous Soviet and Russian actor. Played in cinema and theater. He had the title of "People's Artist of Russia".

Actor biography

Felix Antipov was born in Moscow. He was born in 1942, at the height of the Great Patriotic War.

After he graduated from high school, he went to work in an orchestra, as he had a craving for music. He played trombone and various percussion instruments. After he went to serve in the army.

Later, in his memoirs, Felix Antipov admitted that if he had not entered the theater school, he would most likely have connected his life with music.

His fate was such that he entered the Shchukin school on the first try. It didn’t even take him a few years, like many other actors who later became famous. He was engaged in the creative workshop of the People's Artist of the RSFSR Anna Orochko. The famous theater actress who has played several roles in the movie.

Choice path

Even while studying at the theater school, Felix Antipov showed himself to be a man seeking dishonest money. At least according to the laws of the time. He was convicted of illegal currency transactions. Received three years probation.

Graduated from college in 1968. Despite the vicissitudes with the law, he had no problems with employment. Yuri Lyubimov called him to the Taganka Theater, and Andrei Goncharov to the Mayakovsky Theater. These directors valued talent more than political unreliability.

But at the same time, talking to Antipov, Goncharov reminded him of his suspended sentence, saying that he would have to be looked after in the theater. Lyubimov, on the other hand, reacted completely differently, saying that he knew about everything, but he didn’t care about it. The choice in favor of the Taganka Theater was obvious. In addition, his musical talents and excellent vocal abilities came to the court here. In many productions, he played several musical instruments.

Taganka Theater

Antipov Felix made his debut at the Taganka Theater in 1968. The actor played the role of Motyakov in the play "Alive" based on the story of the same name by Boris Mozhaev. True, the fate of the production was short-lived. A year later, it was banned by the Soviet Minister of Culture Ekaterina Furtseva. It was a play about the opposition of a peasant living in the Ryazan region to the collective farm authorities.

Soon Antipov Felix Nikolaevich became one of the leading actors of the theater. It was very difficult, because Lyubimov was often accused of leaving unfairly little space for actors in his productions. Antipov also passed this experimental path together with the troupe. Like everyone else, he often played in Lyubimov's performances in several episodic, sometimes even nameless roles in one performance.

But were in his careerand high-profile, conspicuous works:

• Marmeladov's role in "Crime and Punishment";
• Fedora in The Brothers Karamazov;
• Chichikova in "Revizskaya Tale" based on Gogol's "Inspector General";

The last of these roles, he first performed in 1968, and then played it until his death.

Theatrical critics noted that Lyubimov was especially passionate about Antipov as an actor. Gave him roles in almost all productions.

Movie roles

In 1971, the first films were released on wide screens, in which Felix Antipov made his debut. The filmography of the actor began with the film by Ilya Averbakh "Drama from Old Life". This is the love story of a count's hairdresser and a serf actress. Antipov got the role of a priest.

In total, he has several dozen roles. Moreover, mainly in Russian, not Soviet cinema. Before the collapse of the USSR, he also played the Unclean Force in Boris Rytsarev's fairy tale "Ivan da Marya", foreman Sizykh in Oleg Goyda's detective story "The Loop" and appeared in a cameo role in Vadim Abdrashitov's phantasmagoric parable "The Servant".

Then followed a long break, during which the actor concentrated on theatrical work.

"Azazel" and others

His return to the domestic cinema took place in 2002. Got a role in the detective Alexander Adabashyan "Azazel" Felix Antipov. The films in which he played in the 2000s mostly became popular with the audience. In this film adaptation of Boris Akunin's novels, the hero of our article played the role of Xavier Feofilaktovich Grushin.

He even took part in domestic sitcoms. For example, many may remember him as General Polezhaikin from the situational comedy sitcom "Daddy's Daughters".

Recent film work

In recent years, Antipov has also played several prominent roles in domestic films.

In 2009, in the melodramatic humorous series by Sergei Korotaeva, Alexander Koruchekov and Dmitry Petrun "Sleeping District". He played the role of the brother of one of the main characters Anna Maslova.

In 2010, he appeared in one of the episodes of the series "Univer" in the image of a veteran astronaut.

In 2011, he was entrusted with the role of USSR Minister of Defense Dmitry Yazov in Alexander Mokhov's drama "Yeltsin. Three Days in August". This is a picture that details theevents in Russia in August 1991, when a violent confrontation between Boris Yeltsin and members of the State Emergency Committee began.

In 2016, Antipov passed away. The actor died after a long illness. He was 73 years old.
