History
In 1988 the Chamber Theater (Chelyabinsk) was founded. Its address is as follows: Zwilling street, 15. This is one of the youngest theaters in the city. The idea of its creation was born from a group of actors of the Chelyabinsk Youth Theater, headed by Evgeny Falevich. They drew up a manifesto in which they expressed their desire to have a chamber stage. The first performance of this troupe was John Marell's "Cry of the Lobster". The troupe rented random premises, played and rehearsed right on the streets, in courtyards, even in children's holiday camps.

In 1992 - December 31 - Chelyabinsk Chamber Theater received the status of the state. His repertoire has always included plays by both classical playwrights and contemporaries. They often become laureates or owners of special prizes. Since 1992, the Chamber Theater has been holding an international festival called "Camerata" within its walls. It is held annually. Victoria Meshchaninova graduated in 1970 from the Institute of Culture in Leningrad. And in 1980 - postgraduate studies at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, which at that time was led by G. A. Tovstonogov and A. I. Katsman. After studying, Victoria Nikolaevna returned to Chelyabinsk. Today, the Chamber Theater is staging its performances under her strict guidance. She is the main director. Victoria Nikolaevna in 2004 was awarded the title Honored Worker of Culture of the RussianFederation.”
In 1983, with the participation of V. Meshchaninova, the Chelyabinsk Drama Theater named after Zwilling staged "Little Tragedies" by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. In the same year, Victoria Nikolaevna received the position of director at the Youth Theater. Her performances "Chaadaev's Candlestick", "Entrance" and "Fatal Mistake" were especially popular and loved by the young audience.
Since 1991, Viktoria Nikolaevna has been the chief director of the Chamber Theater. And from 2006 to 2010, she combined the work of a director with the role of artistic director. V. Meshchaninova is a creative, restless person, her theater is truly author's. She interprets each piece in her own way. In addition to directing, Victoria Nikolaevna teaches at the Chelyabinsk Institute of Culture at the Department of Theater Arts, she is a professor. Most of the troupe of the Chamber Theater are its graduates.
Camerata
Chelyabinsk holds many theatrical festivals and competitions. The Chamber Theater takes an active part in many of them. But besides this, he himself came up with, organized and annually holds a festival called "Camerata". It was first held in 1992. That year, only productions of the Chamber Theater itself took part in the festival. During the one week that the festival lasted, the troupe showed their entire repertoire in order to attract the attention of spectators and critics. And the theater really did not go unnoticed. Many fans got acquainted with his work at this festival.
The second time the "Camerata" was held in 1994. Then the first guests who came to show themselves from Magnitogorsk and Moscow itself took part in the festival.
