Cybill Shepherd is an American actress, singer, model, screenwriter, and producer. Shepard wrote an autobiographical book, Cybill's Defiance.
The actress became widely known for her role as Maddie Hayes in the comedy detective television series Moonlight Detective Agency. Shepard also hosted the TV comedy show Cybill.
The height of the actress is 173 centimeters.
Early years
The future actress was born on February 18, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The girl's parents are William Jennings Shepherd and Patty Schaub.
At the age of sixteen, Cybill entered the Young Miss Memphis beauty pageant. At the age of eighteen, the girl took part in a modeling competition in the city of New York. Thanks to this, Cybill launched a modeling career and became a fashion star in the 60s.
Shepard graduated from Hunter College in New York in 1969 and from New Rochelle College in 1970.
In 1971, Cybill entered New York University. Here she studied for two years and transferredat the University of Los Angeles.
In parallel with her studies, the girl continued to work as a model, starred in television commercials and in advertising for fashion magazines.
The beginning of an acting career
In 1970, director Peter Bogdanovich was looking for actors for his film The Last Picture Show. Cybill Shepard, whose photo was often published in fashion magazines in those years, the director saw in one of the glosses in a newsstand.
Bogdanovich immediately realized that this is exactly what his heroine Jaycee Farrow should be like - a school beauty with whom all the boys in the class are in love. The girl was invited to the tests, which she easily passed. So Cybill became an actress. The debut was successful. The young actress was among the nominees for the Golden Globe Award in the Best Debut category.

According to the plot, the manager of the Blue Moon agency deceived Madison and fled with her money to South America. In order to somehow make ends meet, the girl is going to close all unprofitable firms managed by the agency. Detective David Addison persuades Hayes to go into the detective business herself. So the former top model and the detective become partners.
The TV series really liked not only the audience, who were looking forward to each new episode, but also film critics.

Private life
On the set of The Last Picture Show, Cybill Shepard had an affair with director Peter Bogdanovich. Their relationship f altered and started again over the next eight years.
In November 1978, the actress married David Ford. Soon the couple had a daughter. The girl was named Clementine. The marriage of Cybill and David broke up two years later. Clementine later also became an actress.
In 1985 on the set"Moonlight Detective Agency" Shepard met chiropractor Bruce Oppenheim. Soon Bruce and Cybill formalized their relationship. Cybill gave birth to Bruce's twins, son Zacharias and daughter Ariel. Shepard divorced Oppenheim in 1990.
