Creation process
The Expanse series is based on the eponymous series of novels written by James Corey. Underneath itA pseudonym hides two authors - Daniel Abraham and Ty Frank. The first novel, titled Leviathan Awakens, was published in 2011 and received nominations for several prestigious awards. The leadership of the SyFy television channel expressed a desire to film this literary work. The authors of the series of novels Abraham and Frank became screenwriters and producers of the series. Filming began in the fall of 2014 in Canada. The president of SyFy said that "The Expanse" will be the most ambitious project in the history of the broadcaster.
