Storyline

Roman Kachanov and Ivan Okhlobystin, who are the creators of this film, based the plot on the description of the Russian army of the nineties through the eyes of soldiers. Prologue

The film begins with the viewer's acquaintance with a guy nicknamed Bullet. On his behalf, the story is told throughout the film. Bullet decides to become a soldier in order to save himself from creditors in the army.

The first part talks about what tricks young people are ready to get into, or vice versa, "hang" from the service. What reasons push them to become volunteers. It also shows the reverse side of the numerous commissions that young people have to go through before the army. What are the “criteria” observed and how is the general check for fitness for military service carried out.

Here the main character meets two more guys - Vladik and Tolya Pestemeev. Vlad received a summons after he was expelled from the university. And Tolik accidentally burned down the factory where he worked. With this trio, funny situations will occur. Most of the quotes from the film "DMB" are associated with them.

Then the young men move to the collection point, where they must be distributed in parts. It is here that a company of three peculiar guys is formed. Young guys do not know where they will be sent, the main thing is not to the construction battalion, according to one of the characters - Gena (Bullet), who, according to him, cannot stand free physical labor.

This part tells how future soldiers spend their last hours before they start living "according to the charter". They smoke, drink alcohol, play cards, sing, tell each other fables. Ensigns come to the formed groups to pick up conscripts to the unit. One of the officers became the main character of the next part.

While the guys are resting, Kazakov once again came to his senses and almost disrupted the wedding of the new Russians, which took place on the same ship, by stealing the helm. For such behavior, he was given the nickname Wild Ensign.

In the military unit, the first thing they did was cut their hair, take them to the bathhouse, give them military uniforms and put them to sew collars, despite the fact that no one is familiar with this occupation.

Recruits are now "spirits" - new arrivals. "Spirit" sooner or later becomes a demobilization, and all dreams lie before the demobilization" (another quote). With such an attitude, the guys begin to wait for demobilization from the first days of service. "Grandfathers" begin to "train" young soldiers in everyday life, because of which the guysoften end up in the infirmary and other troubles that make the viewer laugh non-stop.

Samurai Boar

During the service, a cheerful trio, together with a captain, is sent to the subsidiary farm. They have been given the honor of organizing an annual vacation for a cheerful company of military men led by a unit commander.

Bomba, always hungry, scours in his free time in search of food, and the Bayonet finds something more pleasant for himself, in the guise of the widow Larisa. The bomb, not finding anything to eat, decide to satisfy their hunger with the brought boar, which was supposed to become a living target for the commander's entertainment. To remedy the situation, the Bomb replaces the boar as a target, but in a way that the army elite does not guess about it. When high-ranking army officials arrive, Bullet entertains the commander with a game of Russian roulette, Bomba runs through the bushes imitating a boar, and Bayonet wins the hearts of local widows.

Their adventures end with an oath and parting words from the film "DMB" by Major General Talalaev: "You know what I can say, and I know what you can answer me. In short, serve.”

Inspired by the surge in popularity of the first part, the film crew decided to shoot a sequel, which stretched for another 4 fragments.
