Scientifically, dawn is the daily appearance of the Sun above the horizon as a result of the Earth's rotation. However, with creative perception, this phenomenon acquires a special connotation. Who among us has not watched the dawn with a special sense of harmony?

Dawn

In ancient religious teachings, it was customary to consider the sun as a god, who every day passes through the sky on a shining heavenly chariot. Some believers, such as the worshipers of Amun-Ra in ancient Egypt, even performed rituals designed to awaken or revive the sun after its daily death - sunset. Accordingly, dawn is a symbol of birth and new beginnings. Due to its metaphorical nature, the appearance of the sun from behind the horizon has always inspired writers and artists. Dawn is a frequent occurrence in artwork and photographs. And, for example, beach sunrises, such as the one presented in this drawing lesson, are used in advertising to popularize holidays in the tropics and exotic places.

It's really easy to figure out how to draw a sunrise. A sheet of paper is enough for this. And you also need pencils, colored markers or paints tocolor the drawing. You can draw a sunrise in five minutes.

Skyline

So, first you need to draw a dawn with a pencil, make a sketch. Draw a flat horizon line where the earth or water intersects with the sky.

Then proceed to the reliefs along the edges of the horizon. It can be the outlines of mountains or islands: curved, bumpy. Leave an empty space in the center of the sheet.

Sun disk

Depict the sun. But pay attention to the fact that not the whole circle is visible - some part of the arc is hidden behind the horizon. It should also be noted that the sun's rays are reflected on the surface of the water. This can be shown by a series of zigzag or parallel lines under the sun's disk. Palm tree

Why not draw a palm tree on one of the islands? Draw two curved lines that converge at one point against the background of the sun - this will be the trunk. From the tip of the trunk, draw the angular sharp leaves of a tropical tree, let there be, for example, six.

Other little things

You can add other details to the picture at your discretion. Draw coconuts, a few more palm trees against the dawn sky, waves, distant silhouettes of birds.

Colors

Color the picture. In this example, the islands, tree, and birds should remain shaded, but nottoo black and pale, with sunburst highlights around the edges. Do not forget to add the colors of dawn to the water: yellow, pink, orange, purple, blue, red, as the sky is reflected there. Let your imagination experiment with shades. You can make your dawn gentle and peach, or you can make it expressive with the help of scarlet tones.

There are many ways to draw a sunrise, depending on the materials, skills and mood. An image can become a primitive set of strokes, or it can become a whole oil canvas. There are also plenty of options and ideas for the landscape, you can either draw a dawn behind the forest, or over the fields, over the lake. The theme is good because it gives space for experiments with shades of the sky, with mixing colors and smooth transitions between them. It is best to dampen a sheet of paper with water so that the washed-out watercolor shades resemble the real dawn sky. After the background dries, you can add hard or soft light strokes - clouds. They will give the sky depth and organicity.
