A bit of history
The art school in Krasnogorsk has been functioning since 1966. It was opened in an ordinary wooden house, which was poorly suited to the needs of an institution engaged in the aesthetic education of children. Since the school was originally a municipal school,the city administration allocated the second floor of the brick building in 1980. The conditions of the premises were again not conducive to classes, but, as you know, artists can work in any circumstances. Even despite the fact that there was not enough space and sculpture classes were held in the basement of the building, the graduates still have the brightest memories of their first creative workshops.
In 1982, the director of the school, K. G. Trepakov, independently designs a new building and approves it from the administration. Currently, the Krasnogorsk Art School is certified as a school of the highest category. More than a third of all its graduates connect their lives with art, and the staff of the educational institution mostly consists of former students. Every year the school develops, its students participate in exhibitions, competitions and often win prizes.
What education system
Krasnogorsk art school has several levels of education. It includes a preparatory level and further education, which is designed for 4 years. After graduation, an official certificate is issued, which confirms that the training was successful. Recruitment of children to the primary level begins at the age of 8. Preparatory courses at the art school of Krasnogorsk are held 2 times a week.
Education of children at the initial stage is paid, but starting from the first grade, the state pays for the education of children.
What disciplines are taught
Education at the art school takes place in several directions:
- painting;
- graphics;
- DPI;
- easel composition;
- sculpture.
Of course, as in any art school, in Krasnogorsk children receive knowledge about the history of art and every year teachers take their students to the open air.
Children have the opportunity not only to go to school for the required 4 years, but also to additionally work for another fifth year. After all, when entering an art university or college, you cannot lose your drawing skill, so the school administration encourages its students to strive to maintain a high level of drawing.
