What is this dance?
Lambada is a pair dance, its idea is eternal beauty, youth and sensuality. No wonder this name is translated as "passionate kiss." Brazilian in origin (originated in the state of Para), he gathered around him a lot of controversy and criticism, the dance was accused of excessive eroticism, even pornography. But at the same time, many consider it to be the most striking, charming and memorable Latin American dance. Do you want to look at the Brazilian flavor, the people's love for fun and holidays? Look how they dance the lambada!
Lambada dance became popular in the 80s and 90s. thanks to the band Kaoma, who performed the song of the same name. His fame even reached the conservative USSR.
As for the movements, the dance is reminiscent of carimbo, Dominican merengue, forro, samba. The basis of the lambada is the rotational movement of the hips. The dancer seems to be trying to write out a figure eight with them. figuresdance is allowed to demonstrate in a free order.
Today, lambada is considered a great opportunity to relieve stress, get a lot of positive. These are catchy and exciting melodies, incendiary rhythms, sensual and graceful movements, fast pace, refinement and tenderness.
Features of dance
Lambada is a dance with time signature 4/4, tempo 70 beats per minute. The first beat of the measure is a slow movement, the second - two fast ones. Lambada is danced both in one place and moving around the dance floor. The traditional costume of the dancer is distinctive - a fluffy skirt with numerous frills, ending above the knee.
The partner starts the lambada dance on the left foot, and the partner on the right. Accordingly, he finishes the figure with his right foot, and she with her left. As a feature of the lambada - constant contact between the inside of the partner's right leg and the inside of the partner's right leg.
The man in this dance stands on the floor with a full foot, and the girl - only on her toes. At the same time, she puts her foot more directly than her partner in order to be able to turn in the performance of lambada figures.
Dance history
When did the lambada appear? No one can say the exact date: it is still based on ritual and ritual dances of the Indians who inhabited the shores of the Amazon. The lambada was also influenced by such dances as forro, matchish (Brazilian tango). The biggest influence on her was carimbo, which for a long time was the most popular in Latin America, until it was replaced by lambada. Becauseoften carimbo is called lambada and vice versa.
It is known, however, that the birthplace of the dance is the Brazilian city of Porto Seguro. Lambada - this is how all the hits of radio stations, hits, were called in the local dialect. The fact that the lambada is a world-famous dance, and not an original one, was helped by a case. In the late eighties, the French producer O. Lamothe was in Porto Seguro at the carnival, where he saw this charming dance. Fascinated by the sensuality of the lambada, he decided to conquer the Old World with it.
In France, Lamothe formed the black South American pop group Kaoma, which in 1989 recorded the "Lambada" we know and love. I must say, it was a cover (plagiarism) of the composition Llorando se fue by the Bolivian band Los Kjarkas. This led to further legal proceedings due to copyright infringement. Perhaps for this reason, the instrumental version of the song "Lambada" is more popular.
Lamothe's vision was fully realized, both Kaoma and her hit. The dance has become loved and popular around the world.
