If we talk about modern rock legends, it would be a crime not to mention Linkin Park. The guys from Los Angeles have made a lot of noise over the 15 years of their existence: Linkin Park albums one after another become if not "platinum", then certainly "gold" for sure, and each of their concerts turns into a big celebration for fans. So, Linkin Park's official releases: how did it all begin and how can you characterize the band's latest album?

Linkin Park: Hybrid Theory Albums

The band's glorious history began with Hybrid Theory. Linkin Park's albums are popular, but none have reached diamond status, and Hybrid Theory did in 2010 (it was released in 2000).

The world just "shaken up" from such hits as One Step Closer, Crawling and In the End. The team immediately received their first Grammy. And in the rock environment, everyone was just obsessed with Linkin Park. Why?

They turned their music into a stunning cocktail:catchy tunes, Chester Benington's spectacular vocals mixed with Mike Shinoda's recitative, hard sounding, rapid rhythms, but not without a share of lyrics. In a word, Linkin Park instantly and deservedly became the idols of youth.

Meteora

The band's second album - Meteora - strengthened the guys' positions on the first lines of various charts and ratings. The song Numb became especially popular. Perhaps this is the most recognizable composition from the group's work.

Linkin Park's videos were especially spectacular: for example, for the filming of the video for the song From the Inside, it was necessary to imitate urban riots, drive tanks and a bunch of extras into the frame, which cost a lot.

The most incendiary compositions in the tracklist are Don't Stay and Faint. The songs Somewhere I Belong and Breaking the Habit are distinguished by special lyrics.

Linkin Park: songs from Minutes to Midnight

The guys from the group try not to repeat themselves. Linkin Park albums differ both in atmosphere and style. The sound of the third studio album had a lot of electronics and less guitar riffs. Only What I've Done, Given Up and Bleed It Out can be called truly fatal. There were also a lot of lyrics on the record: Leave Out All The Rest, Shadow Of The Day and many more songs.

Following Minutes to Midnight, more and more new albums were released with enviable frequency: New Divide (2009), A Thousand Suns (2010), Living Things (2011), albumRecharged remixes. The musicians continued to experiment with electronics and hard sound. Their mixes were still rock, but became more "ordered" and "combed" in sound.

Fans subsequently reproached the guys for the fact that Linkin Park's albums became more pop, but there were pluses in this: firstly, interesting compositions began to appear, in which different styles were bizarrely combined; secondly, the new Linkin Park format opened the way for them to the world of soundtracks, on which the musicians made good money. From now on, Linkin Park songs loomed up in famous films: "Transformers", "Twilight", "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", etc.

The Hunting Party

Unfortunately, by the fifth-sixth album, many bands start to "crisis". Despite the talent of the guys from Linkin Park (the project members have been proving their creativity for many years), the sixth studio album can hardly be called a work of art. And although music critics curtsey out of old habit, you have to face the truth: this time the guys “went to the wrong steppe.”

If you listen to the album, then track after track we are faced only with incoherent noise, Benigton's hysterical screams, but that's not even the point. Where are those memorable motifs from previous albums? 12 tracks died down, but not a single song can be remembered after the first listening. Music critics say: listen a few times and you will discover the genius of the new album. But let's face it: good music either exists or it doesn't. Heryou feel from the first chord. If for the first time you heard only noise and confused rhythms, then you can only “get used” to this outrage, but there is no need to talk about some kind of “revelation”. We hope that the guys will have a good rest and will release at least one song in the next record that is memorable and does not make you crazy.
