Yulia Kogan is a red-haired beauty with an amazing voice, who is known as the ex-vocalist of the Leningrad group. Before gaining popularity, this beauty had to go through a lot, but her talent was still noticed. Let's get to know her better.
Start
On March 20, 1981, in St. Petersburg, Yulia Mikhailovna Kogan was born into an ordinary family. From childhood, the girl went to the swimming section, which helped her maintain a beautiful toned figure for many years. Nevertheless, her soul has always been drawn to creativity and singing. Unfortunately, Yulia's parents did not have money for expensive vocal teachers, so she attended a school singing circle, where she was taught the basics of vocals and put on a strong and expressive voice.
After graduating from high school, Yulia Kogan studied at a vocational school as a confectioner, and later entered the vocal department at the theater academy on Mokhovaya. It is noteworthy that she managed to enter even without special preparation and specialized training, which many people go through before exams.
Vocal career
Vocal career of Yulia Koganbegan long before graduation - she was a prima in the student theater "Through the Looking Glass", went on tour. But real popularity was still far away. In 2003, after successfully graduating from high school, Yulia Kogan tried herself in different fields - she was a model, starred in various TV shows and projects. Modeling career went uphill, but for the sake of music Yulia decided to give it up.
Everyone was amazed that the girl could easily take an unbearably high note, perform any work. In 2006, at the festival in Jurmala, she managed to get first place. But real popularity came to her in 2007, when Sergey Shnurov invited her as a backing vocalist to his Leningrad group. The chic voice of the girl gave the band's songs a unique charm. The girl became an integral part of the team, it was already impossible to imagine "Leningrad" without her strong vocals. The girl abandoned her second job for the sake of creativity in the group, since it brought her a good income. But this did not last long - the group broke up in 2009 due to creative differences.
Return
But in 2010, Sergei Shnurov and other members of the group decided to reunite again. Yulia Kogan did not miss the opportunity to return to the team, the songs of "Leningrad" for which became a pass to the big stage. Now the girl has become not a backing vocalist, but a full-fledged soloist of the group.
In April 2011, "Leningrad" released its album "Henna", the cover of whichadorned with an interesting photo of Yulia Kogan, who decided to remember her modeling past. The fans were divided into 2 camps: some believed that Yulia was the decoration of the group, and some that the soloist should be alone, and this is Shnurov. Nevertheless, the group was rapidly gaining popularity, and the girl managed to star in other projects, one of which was the joint clip of Andrei Knyazev and Yulia Kogan "Witch". Julia starred in the 11th season of the TV project "Battle of Psychics" as an invited guest. In 2012, the girl ceased her activities as part of the group, and in 2013 she was fired. This happened because after leaving the decree, she was invited to star in the program "I'm right!" on TV channel "Yu". Sergei Shnurov did not like this, and he resolved the differences harshly - he fired the vocalist.
Solo career and personal life
Since 2014, Julia began to closely engage in her solo career. Before that, she performed with solo works in various places, delighting listeners with her amazing voice, but did not release albums. Her first solo concert after leaving Leningrad was a performance at the St. Petersburg club "More".
In 2015, Julia released her first debut album, which she called "Fire-Baba". It included 17 songs, the most popular of which are Bla-bla-bla, Lips to lips, Nikita, I scream and Dance with me. Remarkably, Julia shot clips for all her popular singles, which are somewhat reminiscent of the themeclips "Leningrad".
Despite all life's trials, Yulia Kogan is doing well in her personal life. Yulia's husband is the famous photographer Anton But, with whom they have been happily married for many years. On January 14, 2013, the couple had a child - little Elizabeth. The presence of a family does not interfere with Yulia's self-realization, she still travels with concerts around Russia.
