Emiya Shiro (or Shiro) is the main male character in the Fate universe, in the 2004 visual novel, in the 2006 manga, and the protagonist of the Fate/stay night anime since 2004. In addition to the above works, Emiya can be seen in many manga, anime adaptations of the Fate/stay night universe and the film "Boundless World of Blades".

Anime Hero: Past

The hero is involved in many projects - games, manga and films, however in this article we will consider the character as Shiro Emiya from Fate: Stay Night.

10 years before the events began, Shiro was an ordinary boy who lived with his parents in Shinto. However, everything turned into a nightmare when a fire started, caused by the contents of the Holy Grail after the end of the Fourth War for it. As a result of the fire, both of the boy's parents died. The latter was saved thanks to the conscience of Kiritsugi Emiya, who felt, albeit indirectly, his guilt for the tragedy.

Next, Shiro becomes Kiritsugi's adopted son and learns magic from him. Inadvertently, the second conveys to the boy his desire to become a defender of justice. 5 years beforeAt the start of the Fifth Grail War, Emiya's adoptive father dies, leaving him alone and deeply depressed.

Real

After starting school, Shiro Emiya becomes known for his willingness to help everyone for free, up to repairing the institution's equipment. Later, he joins the archery club and never misses the whole time.

The only exception will be a deliberate error, which he will report before the arrow is released. Emiya will later leave the club due to a fracture and a scar left behind.

Emiya Shiro: Appearance

During the Fifth Holy Grail War (a competition to determine the owner of the Holy Grail - the chalice in which the blood of Christ was collected), the hero Shiro wears red-brown hair, his eyes match the color of his hair - they have a golden brown tint.

In everyday life, he is almost always dressed in casual attire: a white and blue long-sleeved T-shirt and blue jeans. At school, he follows the dress code: he wears the uniform of the Homurahara Academy, but he still puts his jacket on his T-shirt.

Emiya Shiro: Personality

Shiro constantly feels empty inside himself due to the tragedy caused by the huge fire. He is not left feeling guilty and ashamed that he was the only one who survived the terrible events of that time. Due to such judgments, he treats himself casually, putting the lives of other people in his priority. Self-esteem is built on gratuitoushelping others, because for Shiro Emiya from the anime, the very act of virtue is already a reward (altruist).

There is a wild stubbornness in the character. For example, a hero may spend hours trying to master high jumps, which is an almost impossible task for him. He will defend his point of view to the very end, even if it is incorrect. Also, despite the priority of helping other people, if Emiya sees that a person's actions lead to his own death, he will not intervene.

Such a strong-willed and stubborn character could not leave many girls indifferent. While the love object between Saber, Sakura, and Rin may change depending on the chosen branch, Emiya will be in love with the latter even before the events of Fate/stay night. Therefore, Rin Tohsaka and Shiro Emiya will begin to develop strong mutual feelings for each other.

Role in anime

The boy is a second year high school student at Homurahara High School. Shiro is not at all interested in the fight for the Holy Grail, but he still intends to win the war, and only for noble purposes: Emiya hopes that with the help of his efforts, the terrible fire that he had to endure 10 years ago will never happen again.

Abilities

Despite being trained in magic by his adoptive father, Shiro cannot officially be called a recognized magician, as he is more of a spellcaster who does not recognize the usual motives of wizards. Due to the fact that Emiya is not a member of the foster family, hedoes not have innate talent and sufficient experience to inherit a magical sign. Due to these circumstances, Shiro Emiya is unable to fully utilize any of the Five Great Elements.
