Childhood and youth

Sergey Nikitin was born on a holiday, it was Women's Day on March 8, 1944. He was born in the troubled and difficult years of the war. His father was a soldier.

Sergey studied well at school, was fond of the exact sciences (he was especially attracted to physics). In his youth, he began to write music, tried to invent melodies for the poems of famous poets to make songs.

After leaving school (in 1962), the young man entered the prestigious Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. Here he was waiting for participation in student amateur performances and a successful marriage.

The talent of a young musician showed up at Moscow State University. He actively performed in student amateur performances, played the guitar from the stage, performing songs of his own composition. Sergei Nikitin organized a quartet and a quintet of physicists-musicians.

It was in the circle of student amateur performances that Nikitin gained fame as a bard and found the love of his life. With this lovebecame Tatyana Sadykova. In 1968, Sergei and Tatyana got married. In 1971, their son Alexander was born.

After graduating from university, Nikitin joined the Institute of Organic Chemistry, successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis and made a scientific career.

In the 60s, many young people dreamed of singing songs with a guitar, however, not everyone could do it. And Sergei Nikitin was an excellent singer. He found his own unique style, he even had a rare guitar - seven-string, with a special minor tone. Therefore, he and his future wife were able to achieve well-deserved fame.

Songs for movies and cartoons

But all the same, Nikitin's all-Union fame was brought by work in the cinema. In E. Ryazanov's film "The Irony of Fate", he brilliantly performed several songs that were especially loved by the audience for their lyricism and depth of meaning: "I asked the ash tree", "If you don't have an aunt …", etc. (later the Nikitina spouses will perform songs and in other films directed by Ryazanov).

Otherwork in the cinema, which also elevated Nikitin to the pinnacle of fame, was the film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears", in which the Nikitins sang all the songs. Quiet and kind works, distinguished by soft lyricism and intelligence, were immediately remembered by all those who watched this film. It is possible that the successful musical selection also contributed to the fact that this film was awarded a high award abroad (Oscar Award for Best Foreign Film).

The wife of Nikitin also sang in cartoons. The most famous was the cartoon, which was released in 1979. It was called "Big Secret for a Small Company". The amazing songs that sounded in it have gained real immortality. They are performed (even today) by both adults and children.

Work in the theater

After perestroika, Sergei Nikitin left science forever. His knowledge as a candidate of sciences turned out to be unclaimed. Bard was invited to work in the theater. Sergei Yakovlevich worked for several years as the head of the musical department at the Oleg Tabakov Theater (in the famous Snuffbox).

In 1997, the Nikitins were awarded the prestigious Tsarskoye Selo Art Prize for many years of work in the field of musical art.

In their entire creative life, the couple wrote and performed music for more than 50 theatrical performances. These productions are included in the golden fund of Russian art.
