St. Petersburg is the heart of Russian ballet. Ballet stars demonstrate their skills at the Mariinsky Theatre. No less famous is the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, famous for its wonderful productions and unique talents. Among the stars of the Russian ballet scene is the name of Farukh Ruzimatov, director of ballet performances and dancer of the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theater and former premiere of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.

Birth of the "dancing leopard"

The biography of Farukh Ruzimatov is practically not presented in available sources - only minor excerpts. The world size of the Russian ballet, a native of Tashkent - the capital of the Uzbek SSR, Farukh Saddulaevich Ruzimatov in 2018 celebrates his 55th birthday. Information about Ruzimatov's childhood and adolescence has not been published anywhere.

He began his career path by studying at the Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova Ballet School (now the Academy of Russian Ballet) in the class of G. Selyutsky. In the photo, Farukh Ruzimatov is presented at the time of preparation for the next performance. The rehearsal is taking place with the participation of the famous dancer and choreographer Andris Liepa.

In 1981 he graduated from college and joined the Opera and Ballet Theater. S. M. Kirov (now - Mariinsky) in Leningrad. And five years later he became his soloist. Somewhat later, he got the opportunity to collaborate with the American Ballet Theatre. The period of his "Mariinsky" activity lasted about fifteen years.

The work of Farukh Ruzimatov can be conditionally divided into two inseparable halves: classical and modern. Looking at the roles of Ruzimatov the classic, you suddenly stop believing in the possibility of the existence of the second half of his creative personality, he is so sustained, harmonious and academic. It strikes with technique, in the plastic language of which something feline shows through. And its modern "half" is embossed, almost graphic, to a painful break.

During his creative career, Ruzimatov had many wonderful partners, including Svetlana Zakharova, Diana Vishneva, Margarita Kullik and others.

Farukh Ruzimatov is the winner of several prestigious awards: Golden Mask, B altika. Laureate of the international competition in Varna. He was also awarded the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation.

Stars of two capitals: a project you want to be in

In the St. Petersburg Grand Concert Hall "Oktyabrsky" on February 17, 2018, the first and already unique concert took place, in which its organizers - People's Artist of the RSFSR Farukh Ruzimatov and Ukrainian artist and director Denis Matvienko managed to gather three generations at once uniquedancers and dancers of the Russian ballet of the XXI century. Despite the absence of such figures as Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Uliana Lopatkina, Diana Vishneva, the concert received admiring attention from the St. Petersburg public.

Against the background of classical numbers, F. Ruzimatov's number, set to the music of Maurice Ravel - "Adoration of the Bolero", became especially convex. The brilliant performance of the amazing master became the highlight of the project. The concert also featured modern ballet performances.

Gala concert organized in St. Petersburg was a huge success. In the future, in case of sufficient demand, it is planned to make such concerts traditional. It should be noted that the composition of the touring team is multinational, as, in fact, the art of ballet itself - it is accessible to the perception of representatives of all peoples.

Unlike the others

The amazing ballet "Adoration of the Bolero", set to music by Maurice Ravel and brilliantly performed by Farukh Ruzimatov, is very different from the classical ballets of the Russian stage. It is permeated with rage, suffering, frenzied energy, the cry of a "wounded leopard".

The play was staged by Nikolai Androsov and performed by the head of the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theater Farukh Ruzimatov himself. "The Adoration of the Bolero" is a plot ballet. It is based on the story of a French pilot. Michel was captured by the Berbers, with whom France fought, where he suffered severe suffering. Contrary to all expectations, in the play Ruzimatovdid not play the role of the protagonist at all. He plays a complex role in the performance - the Berber leader Tarukh, who leads his freedom-loving people. Particularly colorful in his performance were pantomimes on Barbary folk chants and ritual scenes.

Moor's Pavane

The best production by José Limon provided an opportunity for Farukh Ruzimatov to plunge into the magic of the tragic images of William Shakespeare. In the performance, thanks to the talent of the dancer, a brilliant image of Othello was created. And the music of the English composer Henry Purcell makes the ballet quite classical, despite all the innovative approaches of the director. Over time, the symbolism presented in "Pavane" becomes more and more stable and perceived by the viewer.

The performance is designed for one act. It retains the traditional form of pavana - a slow ceremonial dance based on solemn transitions and regrouping of participants, united by the symbolism of plasticity, facial expressions, energy and … a scarf around which the plot of the tragedy develops.

City for one

Another interesting work by Farukh Ruzimatov. This performance was staged at the Rostov Theater by Nikita Dmitrievsky to modern music created by an international trio: a Brazilian, a Portuguese and a Frenchman, in an innovative manner. The performance is conditional and, in fact, plotless. It raises the problem of human loneliness among the realities of a huge anthill city, a person left alone with his fears and experiences - the creatures of a giantoctopus city.

The plastic language of Dmitrievsky, realized in the plasticity of Ruzimatov, is unusual and complex. However, the talented performer does not get tired of learning new things.

As a leader: the plans of the maestro

Farukh Ruzimatov's career as a unique ballet dancer is connected with the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky theaters in St. Petersburg.

Since 2014, dancer and stage director F. Ruzimatov has headed the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theatre. As artistic director in a short period, he was able to greatly update the repertoire and introduce unique productions into it, in which he himself entered the stage after a long period of inactivity.

First of all - to students and graduates of the native "Vaganovka". Ruzimatov invited the best teachers - world celebrities to conduct master classes at the opera houses of St. Petersburg. F. S. Ruzimatov served as chairman of the fund until 2011

Farukh Ruzimatov: personal life

It is known that in order for creative talent to be fully realized, it must have a strong rear and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. This is all the more relevant in the life of Farukh Ruzimatov, a very demanding professional: first of all, to himself, and, of course, to his partners, always immersed in creativity and very popular. BUTpopularity implies total dedication to one's work.

Farukh Ruzimatov was married twice. The first wife was an actress and director from St. Petersburg Olga Obukhovskaya. In this marriage, the son Stanislav was born. The second wife of the actor was the ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater Victoria Kutepova. A son was born in their family, who was called an unusual name - Daler. There is nothing more about the personal life of the dancer and director in the publications. It is only known that the children of Farukh Ruzimatov did not follow in the footsteps of their father: the elder chose a career as a lawyer, and the younger does not think about his future profession due to his age.

Talent and cinema

Ruzimatov's filmography is very small. Among the films in which he starred, there are two of the most-most. Both are associated with the work of the actor and directly with the art of ballet. The first film was the film "Grand Pas on a Midsummer Night", where Ruzimatov was assigned the role of Adam. The role of Eve was played by Altynai Asylmuratova.

Second film - "Broken Light". It was filmed two years after the first tape - in 1990. Farukh Ruzimatov's personal life is not reflected in his filmography.

Further F. Ruzimatov starred in several more films: "Egyptian Nights", "White Nights", "If the Stars Light" and "Everything is Fine". In addition, he took part in a number of dramatic performances.
