Among the stars of the Russian ballet scene is the name of Farukh Ruzimatov, director of ballet performances and dancer of the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theater and former premiere of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.

Birth of the "dancing leopard"

The biography of Farukh Ruzimatov is practically not presented in available sources - only minor excerpts. The world size of the Russian ballet, a native of Tashkent - the capital of the Uzbek SSR, Farukh Saddulaevich Ruzimatov in 2018 celebrates his 55th birthday. Information about Ruzimatov's childhood and adolescence has not been published anywhere.

He began his career path by studying at the Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova Ballet School (now the Academy of Russian Ballet) in the class of G. Selyutsky. The rehearsal is taking place with the participation of the famous dancer and choreographer Andris Liepa.

In 1981 he graduated from college and joined the Opera and Ballet Theater. S. M. Kirov (now - Mariinsky) in Leningrad. And five years later he became his soloist. The play was staged by Nikolai Androsov and performed by the head of the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theater Farukh Ruzimatov himself. "The Adoration of the Bolero" is a plot ballet. It is based on the story of a French pilot. Michel was captured by the Berbers, with whom France fought, where he suffered severe suffering. Contrary to all expectations, in the play Ruzimatovdid not play the role of the protagonist at all. He plays a complex role in the performance - the Berber leader Tarukh, who leads his freedom-loving people. The best production by José Limon provided an opportunity for Farukh Ruzimatov to plunge into the magic of the tragic images of William Shakespeare. In the performance, thanks to the talent of the dancer, a brilliant image of Othello was created. And the music of the English composer Henry Purcell makes the ballet quite classical, despite all the innovative approaches of the director. Over time, the symbolism presented in "Pavane" becomes more and more stable and perceived by the viewer.

The performance is designed for one act. It retains the traditional form of pavana - a slow ceremonial dance based on solemn transitions and regrouping of participants, united by the symbolism of plasticity, facial expressions, energy and … a scarf around which the plot of the tragedy develops.

City for one

Another interesting work by Farukh Ruzimatov. This performance was staged at the Rostov Theater by Nikita Dmitrievsky to modern music created by an international trio: a Brazilian, a Portuguese and a Frenchman, in an innovative manner. The performance is conditional and, in fact, plotless. It raises the problem of human loneliness among the realities of a huge anthill city, a person left alone with his fears and experiences - the creatures of a giantoctopus city.

The plastic language of Dmitrievsky, realized in the plasticity of Ruzimatov, is unusual and complex. However, the talented performer does not get tired of learning new things.

Farukh Ruzimatov's career as a unique ballet dancer is connected with the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky theaters in St. Petersburg.

Since 2014, dancer and stage director F. Ruzimatov has headed the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theatre. As artistic director in a short period, he was able to greatly update the repertoire and introduce unique productions into it, in which he himself entered the stage after a long period of inactivity.

Back in 2006, Farukh Ruzimatov opened a charitable foundation - "The Revival of Dance Art". He established scholarships for talented youth in the ballet field. Farukh Ruzimatov was married twice. The first wife was an actress and director from St. Petersburg Olga Obukhovskaya. In this marriage, the son Stanislav was born. The second wife of the actor was the ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater Victoria Kutepova. A son was born in their family, who was called an unusual name - Daler. There is nothing more about the personal life of the dancer and director in the publications. It is only known that the children of Farukh Ruzimatov did not follow in the footsteps of their father: the elder chose a career as a lawyer, and the younger does not think about his future profession due to his age.
