If you were born at the turn of the 80s and 90s, then your childhood must have passed by watching American TV shows that were popular at that time. There was a time when actress Shannen Doherty was on the cover of every notebook, either with the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 or as one of the powerful Charmed Ones. But few people know how the actress's career began and what awaited her after leaving one of the most iconic series of the beginning of the century.
Shannen Maria Doherty was born April 12, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee. Despite the fact that the family of the actress had nothing to do with cinema, Shannen played her first, albeit episodic, roles at the age of 10. For the first time, the actress received a permanent role a year later, not being afraid to go to the casting of the then sensational TV series Little House on the Prairie. After that, the series “Our House” appeared, in each episode of which Shannen Doherty was invariably present, the films “Alf Loves Mystery” and “Girls Want to Have Fun”. In the latter, the actress played with no less famous and beloved by the audience Sarah Jessica Parker.
Huge success came to the actress in 1990 withthe role of Brenda Walsh in the popular TV series Beverly Hills 90210. The audience adored Brenda, and their love was expressed in the many awards for which Shannen was nominated. But co-stars on set couldn't say the same - Shannen wasn't easy to play with. As a result, in 1994, after listening to many requests and complaints from young artists, Aaron Spelling made the final decision. Brenda Walsh went to study in London, and the actress left the series.
Despite her character, Shannen never ceased to be a talented actress. This is probably why, four years later, Spelling again invited Doherty to his series, this time - "Charmed". The creator of the series had no doubts about the choice, because the actress fit perfectly into the trio with her sisters Holly Mary Combs and Alice Milano, and even entrusted her with the role of director in several episodes. But the sad story repeated itself: during the filming of the third season, after the Milano scandal, Shannen announced that she wanted to leave the series once and for all. That is why her character Prue had to go not to London at all, but to the “other world”. Many fans hoped to see her at least in an episodic role, because the connection with the other world by the third season of the Charmed Ones had already been established. But Shannen kept her word and did not appear in any more episodes.
Many fans are wondering what's going on in Shannen's life right now?
Now Doherty is increasingly trying himself as a director. She already has several reality shows on her account, the latest of which, a travel show, -collaboration with her "enchanted" sister Holly Mary Combs.
Shannen lives with her husband, photographer Kurt Iswarinko, and pets. She owes her life to one of her pets - it was a dog named Bowie who was the first to discover cancer in Shannen Doherty. Bowie climbed into the arms of the hostess and sniffed her breasts, but the actress did not attach importance to these actions until she heard her diagnosis. It happened only in 2015, but, according to Shannen Doherty, cancer could have been diagnosed a year before. In 2014, the actress was left without insurance due to the fault of the insurance company. While the documents were being restored, cancer spread more and more in Shannen Doherty's body.
The actress is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which she plans to finish in a few weeks. She is surrounded by the care and support of family and friends, as well as fans. Shannen herself is trying to provide support to those who are going through the same thing as her. In her Instagram account, the actress posts photos during the procedures.
- Shannen showed interest in the profession of an actress only after moving to Los Angeles at the age of eight. Before that, the girl loved equestrian sports and dreamed of taking part in the Olympic Games.
- Despite her huge workload, Shannen never dropped out of school, but on the contrary, she treated her very responsibly. The actress herself says that her final grades allowed her to enter the best universities in the country, but she chose a different path.
- Leaving Charmed, Shannen promised never toreturn to the series. But years later, the actress not only reconciled with Alice Milano, but also began to travel to various conventions dedicated to Charmed.
- As Shannen Doherty herself says, cancer is not as scary as the unknown. There is no guarantee that chemotherapy or surgery will help, but the actress, her family and friends are hoping for the best.
We join them in wishing Shannen Doherty a speedy recovery and looking forward to her new acting and directing work!

In our domestic cinematography, a lot of the same type, melodramatic serials have recently appeared, like modern stories about strong independent women who can cope with all the difficulties alone. A twelve-episode picture with a somewhat hackneyed plot, however, does not evoke direct associations
September 2015 pleased the viewers with the start of the lyrical comedy "It doesn't get better." The film from the first series hooked the audience with its light humor and beloved Cinderella story, but vice versa. The title of the film describes the wonderful life of a married couple in which the husband is a banker and the wife is a beauty. The couple has been married for 10 years, the son goes to school, there is a charismatic nanny, and the house is a full bowl. However, everything disappears in a moment
Sometimes the title of a movie cannot be deciphered even after watching the movie to the end. In such cases, there is a feeling of bewilderment. Fortunately, the series "It doesn't get better" (reviews will not lie) produced by the Russian Federation in 2015 and the US melodramatic comedy of 1997 with the same name are a pleasant exception. However, the eponymous series produced by South Korea is also distinguished by a close connection between the name and its main idea
