Vladimir Valutsky is a talented screenwriter with more than 60 developed scripts for famous Soviet and Russian films. How did the life of the Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR turn out? And what paintings did he take part in?

Short biography

Vladimir Valutsky was born in 1936 in Moscow. His father was a Pole by origin, immigrated to the Russian Empire during the First World War. In the USSR, Ivan Yanovich became a respected engineer: during the Great Patriotic War he built airfields, then he sat in ministries. However, despite all the merits, Valutsky's father remained non-partisan until the end of his life.

Where Vladimir got a craving for screenwriting is unknown: no one in the Valutsky family had anything to do with art. But one thing is known for sure - Vladimir has always been distinguished by a rebellious spirit. For example, in 1961 he flew out of VGIK with a bang for unprecedented impudence: he took part in the filming of parodies of films about the great leader of the proletariat Lenin.

By some miracle, Valutsky managed to recover at the institutecinematography and in 1964 successfully complete his studies at the screenwriting department. And a year later, 2 short films were shot according to his scripts - the melodrama "Komesk" and the short story "Permanently registered" from the film almanac "Wick".

Vladimir Valutsky: films of the Soviet period

It so happened that the very first full-length script written by Valutsky brought the master unprecedented success and fame. The comedy film "Head of Chukotka", released in 1966, was very popular. The main roles in the project went to Vladimir Kononov and Alexei Gribov.

In 1970, Vladimir Valutsky again creates an excellent script, according to which director Vitaly Melnikov shoots the comedy "7 Brides of Corporal Zbruev". Among the leaders of the Soviet film distribution in 1971, the film took 11th place.

After such a successful start, 2-3 films were shot annually according to the scenarios of Vladimir Ivanovich. Among the works of the 70s. the historical film "Yaroslavna, Queen of France" with Elena Koreneva in the title role and the film story "Night Witches in the Sky" with Valeria Zaklunnaya and Valentina Grushina stand out in particular.

Also in the 80s, Valutsky joined the script group that worked on the cult TV series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, directed by Igor Maslennikov. "Mary Poppins, goodbye", "Winter Cherry" - the scripts for these films were also written by Vladimir Ivanovich.

Paintings from the 90s-2000s

90s for Vladimir Valutsky began with work on the film "Winter Cherry 2", the main role inwhich was again played by the inimitable Elena Safonova. In 1991, according to the scenario of Vladimir Ivanovich, the famous director Leonid Kvinikhidze filmed the drama "White Nights".

Then there was the detective "Gray Wolves", the tragicomedy "Hammer and Sickle", the action movie "Crusader 2".

In 2003, Valutsky created the script for Stanislav Govorukhin's melodrama Bless the Woman, in which Svetlana Khodchenkova played the main role. And in 2004, he adapted A. Azolsky's novel "Saboteur" for a screen production.

The famous TV series Yesenin, Echelon, Saboteur. The end of the war”, “Admiral” was also created with the participation of Vladimir Ivanovich.

From the latest screened works of the master, one can single out the serial film "Spy" with Danila Kozlovsky in the title role. In 2017, the biographical drama “Lev Yashin. Goalkeeper of my dreams”, to which Valutsky is also directly involved.

Vladimir Valutsky: personal life

Valutsky was married only once - to actress Alla Demidova, with whom he lived all his life. The screenwriter also raised an illegitimate daughter, who later became a journalist.

In April 2015, Vladimir Ivanovich died at the age of 79. The famous filmmaker was buried at the Troyekurovsky cemetery.
