Most people love cats. Of course, many animals are outwardly beautiful, but the cutest of them are cats. Love for our smaller brothers did not bypass creative people either. Many of them have tailed pets at home, and almost every person who is fond of drawing, looking at his pet, tried to draw a kitty in stages. How to do this, we will now see, and also try to portray a cat in anime style.

The first step. Sketch

First choose what kind of kitty you want to draw. As a rule, drawing from nature is much more convenient than from memory, because you can always compare your work and the object that is actually in front of you. The basis of any work is a sketch. Sketches are usually made with hard (H or F) pencils, so that later it would be more convenient to erase extra lines. Carefully examine the animal in front of you, remember its distinctive details, calculate the proportions of the length of the body and torso parts, think about the exact position you want to draw it in. For example, start sketching with two small circles - the head and muzzle on it and a large oval (the animal's body). Paws can be drawn in the form of narrow elongated figures, and the tail can be drawn as a line. Second step. Shaping

First, we check if we positioned the head, body, legs and tail correctly, and also compare the ratio of the sizes of the body parts of a real animal and your image. Before you draw the kitty completely, check again if the cat in your drawing is proportional. If the sketch was done correctly: the head turned out not too big, and the number of paws of the cat coincides with reality, then now we start drawing the missing details and outline the outlines of the sketch. But do not work out the head in detail, just outline the approximate location of the eyes, ears and muzzle: you can do the exact drawing of the rest a little later. This work can be done with a softer pencil, for example, hard-soft (HB).

Third step. Head

First let's shape the circle or oval on your sketch into the shape of a cat's head. In the place where the cat's cheeks pass into the muzzle, narrow the main circle (the head should resemble a pear shape). Now divide it with a vertical line exactly in the center (the axis of symmetry of the face). In relation to about ½, counting from above, swipehorizontal line - the eyes will be located here. Draw the eyes, nose and ears of the cat. The eyes are small, horizontally elongated ovals, and the distance between them is equal to the length of one eye, the pupils, unlike human ones, are vertical. The ears look like triangles rounded at the top, and the nose looks like an inverted triangle, closer to the base of which circles are cut out on the sides. And don't forget to add all the necessary details like mustache and eyebrows.

The fourth step. Coloring

The distinctive feature of each animal is its color. Look at your cat, what is she like? Striped, spotted or its color without a pattern? Try to convey the real colors of the animal, because it will give your work the greatest resemblance to a pet. To depict wool, draw in short strokes, overlaying them on top of each other. Also mark the light and shadow: where the shadow falls on your "sitter", make the color darker, the darkest area will be under the part of the body on which your kitty is leaning. How to draw a shadow falling from an animal on the surrounding space, its shape will tell you: the shaded zones repeat the outlines of the object. In these places, softer pencils can be used for work, but shading is most often done with B or HB lead.

Anime Cat

Of course, cats themselves are very beautiful animals, but their depiction in anime is especially interesting: because of their large eyes, the cutest cats are in Japanese cartoons. The genre has enoughbig audience and a lot of people like this drawing style. So let's also figure out how to draw an anime kitty.

The work of anime drawing is more complex: it is more difficult to stylize drawings than to depict a real-life object. But you need to start everywhere the same way - with a sketch, which is done in the same way as a sketch of any cat. Now we outline its contours, adding details: bangs, tail, draw big anime eyes.
