W alt Disney Studio, shooting a project for Channel One about the life of schoolchildren, their parents and teachers, invited a curious creative union - the Presnyakov brothers and Andrei Boltenko - to take the responsible post of director. It was they who were destined to shoot 9 episodes of the series "After School". The actors invited to participate in the filming are known and dearly loved by the domestic audience: Mikhail Porechenkov, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Alexander Gordon and others.

Antipodes

If you try to list the school series that have ever been broadcast on Channel One, then Valeria Gai Germanika's TV movie "School" will immediately come to mind, which at one time literally blew up the airwaves and caused heated irreconcilable discussions. As it turned out, the film "School" and the series "After School" were conceived and filmed almost simultaneously and were positioned as antipodes, so the name of the second has a double meaning. However, during production, a number of unforeseen changes occurred, as a result of which filming dragged on for longfour years.

The fruit of co-creation

The film "After School" was created by an interesting creative union. In addition to the director of the Moscow show-competition "Eurovision" TV director Andrey Boltenko, the famous representatives of the "new drama", the writers of the scripts for the paintings by I. Dykhovich "Europe-Asia", M. Porechenkov "Day D" and the plays "Playing the Victim" were engaged in production and "Terrorism" - the Presnyakov brothers. They wrote the script for the series "After School", the actors and roles of the TV project were also selected for each other with their direct participation, since the Presnyakovs also acted as co-directors.

The offspring of this co-creation of arthouse and mass culture contains all the parental qualities, combining the TV brilliance of the visual component with plot twists and monologues, saturated with wonderful, sometimes slipping into the absurdity of humor. This is how the series “After School” appears before the viewer.

Fairy Tale

The plot of the TV project is built on the intersection of three circles of relationships: the world of children (schoolchildren), the world of the teaching staff of the school and the world of the parent community. The story takes place in the near future, so it can be called a true story. The series "After School", the actors of which, embodying the idea of the creators, demonstrated the full range of acting skills, is divided into nine episodes. Each individual is named after one of the teenage students, and the plot is built through the prism of his relationship with himself andaround the world.

The indisputable core, according to critics, was the extravagant Frida, who was embodied on the screen by Ksenia Rappoport's daughter Aglaya Tarasova. Passing the casting for the shooting of the film "After School", the actors directly communicated with the authors of the project, who sometimes, as in the case of Aglaya Tarasova, corrected the images of the characters according to the texture of the selected performers.

Acting Ensemble

Filmed in the series "After School" actors in different roles:

• Sergey Shakurov. The Soviet and Russian theater and film actor played the role of the director of the school. The artist collaborated with great domestic directors: Andrei Konchalovsky, Nikita Mikhalkov, Pyotr Todorovsky. His filmography is so impressive and diverse that there is no doubt about his professionalism.
• Mikhail Porechenkov, who gained fame after the release of the National Security Agent, embodied the character of a physical education teacher in the project.
• Mikhail Trukhin - lieutenant (after - captain and major) Volkov from the series "Streets of Broken Lights". He played a dashing Trudovik (teacher of labor training).
• Ksenia Rappoport transformed into deputy. director of teaching Spanish.
• Alexander Gordon tried on the role of an English teacher.

The roles of students were played in the film "After School" by actors: A. Seteykin, E. Shlyanda, M. Lustin, A. Tarasova, A. Fandeev and other representatives of talented youth.

There are cameos in the series, performed by recognizable "media faces". ToFor example, figure skater Ilya Averbukh played not only himself, but also his driver. In one of the episodes of the project, Oleg Skrypka, the frontman of the Vopli Vidoplyasov group, appeared.

While watching the TV movie, it becomes clear that the creators have perfectly studied both the full list of interests of Russian teenagers and the successful American youth series. In general, the project is a mixture of episodes in the sitcom genre, domestic and foreign music videos, passions boiling around intra-school sports competitions, features of the national mentality, and this cocktail is generously seasoned with a fair amount of impudence. According to Konstantin Ernst, the viewer just needs to relax and enjoy watching, as "After School" turned out to be a nerve-paralytic and hallucinogenic thing.
