Kudryavtseva Tatyana has been decorating household items using the One Stroke technique, which is distinguished by a special two-color stroke, for two decades. To create a drawing, a flat brush is used, on which two paints are applied simultaneously. With its continuous movement along the canvas, a unique three-dimensional pattern is formed.
The origins of the craft
The emergence of the two-color stroke technique dates back to the second half of the 18th century, when the fashion for lacquerware came from China to Russia. In those days, metallurgy was actively developing in Nizhny Tagil, which contributed to the concentration of many craftsmen in the city. Among them there were also those who painted various household items. The impetus in the development of the craft is considered to be the creation by the famous industrialist Nikita Demidov of the school of handwriting. The highlight of the Tagil painting was considered to be three flowers located in the very center of the composition, whichwere called rosean.
Followers of folk craft
The forgotten primordially Russian technique of a two-color brushstroke has found a second life, oddly enough, thanks to the American artist Donna Dewberry. It was she who, together with the Plaid company, organized a project that allowed this craft to gain worldwide fame, which ensured its further mass distribution. Of the brightest Russian followers of decorative painting today is Tatyana Kudryavtseva. Over the years of many years of creative research, she has developed her own style of painting, which is successfully sold at world exhibitions under the Tagil Painting brand.
Decorative painting in a modern interpretation
The use of the One Stroke technique is quite wide, but if earlier it was mainly used to decorate dishes and various wood products, now it also makes modern gadgets, interior items, jewelry and leather products unique. There is one more distinctive feature of the performance of decorative painting in our millennium - the use of acrylic, since in the 18th century patterns were painted only with oil paints. New materials, of course, expand the possibilities of the craft, allowing the pattern to be applied where the artist wishes. Tatyana Kudryavtseva, with her numerous works on decorating glass, canvases, interiors, only confirms that the unique folk craft today has no boundaries.
Becoming an artist
Making a childhood dream come trueKudryavtseva Tatyana after graduation receives a professional education in the speci alty "arts and crafts and folk crafts". Subsequently, she gets a job at an enterprise where trays are painted. However, streaming drawing according to a strictly defined pattern does not satisfy the needs of the master in self-realization. Soon, Tatyana Kudryavtseva finds herself in teaching Russian painting to students of an art lyceum. For more than ten years she has been working in this field, developing her imagination and honing her skills.
Enter new horizons
The development of a market economy makes its own adjustments to the future fate of a talented artist. Having exhausted the possibilities of their native Volgodonsk, Tatyana and her husband move to Moscow, where they jointly organize courses on teaching the two-color stroke technique. The master is increasingly taking part in exhibitions of applied art, both Russian and international. Gradually, her works begin to be printed in specialized publications, Italian decoupage cards based on the drawings are issued, and the artist's Internet pages are full of admiring reviews.
It's good that the resources of Russian painters are inexhaustible, such as Tatyana Kudryavtseva, whose master class is very popular these days.
