The famous Russian composer David Fedorovich Tukhmanov is known primarily for his songwriting. However, there are many other interesting works and achievements in his composer's legacy. Tukhmanov's songs have not lost popularity for several decades, they are considered an honor to be performed by the country's best singers.
Childhood and family
Tukhmanov David Fedorovich, the future composer, was born on July 20, 1940 in Moscow. David's mother was a musician, composer, and from childhood she developed her son's musical abilities. Under her guidance, the boy began to master the piano from the age of 4 and already at that time created the first independent work - lezginka. The boy's father is an engineer, originally from Armenia. Therefore, Tukhmanov David Fedorovich called his nationality mixed - Russian-Armenian. Since childhood, the boy's path was predetermined, the mother's perseverance and natural musical abilities did not give David the opportunity to choose a different path in life.
Years of study
In 1948 Tukhmanov David Fyodorovich enters the Gnessin music school to study piano. E. Ephrussi became his first teacher, but the founder of the school, Elena Fabianovna Gnesina, took an active part in the education of the boy. It was she who saw in him more of a composer than a performer, and in every possible way encouraged his writing activity. Already in the elementary grades, David creates the first musical opuses: romances, piano pieces, ballads. In high school, Tukhmanov is studying composition with the outstanding school teacher Lev Nikolaevich Naumov.
In 1958, David graduated from high school. By this time, he already knows exactly who he wants to become, and therefore enters the institute. Gnesins to the composer department. His diploma work - an oratorio for choir, orchestra and soloists based on the text of A. Tvardovsky's poem "Beyond the Distance" - received the highest mark from the examination committee. In 1963, a new certified composer appeared in the country - David Tukhmanov.
Professional path
After graduating from the institute, Tukhmanov David Fedorovich went to serve in the army, where he began working by profession - he leads his first team, an orchestra in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Moscow Military District. And in the mid-60s, he began his journey into the world of professional composing. Since his student days, he has been attracted to the pop genre, and he begins to write music for songs, in this field he became famous and began to earn a living. In addition, Tukhmanovtries himself in the role of artistic director of various groups. So, in 1986, he became the head of a commercial project - he became the head of the Electroclub group, where Irina Allegrova, Igor Talkov, and later Vladimir S altykov sang. But such work did not bring him satisfaction.
Gradually, Tukhmanov's need to create something serious grows, he recalls his experiences in writing chamber music at the institute. At various times, he creates cycles of ballads and romances based on poems by famous poets: I. Annensky, Georg Trakl, Boris Poplavsky.
In 1989, the composer's cooperation with the theater began. Together with the children's poet Yu. Entin, he writes the musical The Baghdad Thief, which is staged at the Moscow Satirikon Theater and the Sverdlovsk Theater of Musical Comedy. Later, he writes music for Lyudmila Gurchenko's one-man show "Madeleine, Quietly!", for the production of "The Married Taxi Driver" at the Moscow Satire Theater. Tukhmanov also worked in cinema. He has written music for over 10 feature films.
The beginning of perestroika was a difficult time for musicians, and Tukhmanov David Fedorovich, a composer of a non-commercial direction in music, leaves for Germany. It becomes a kind of sabbatical, for four years he does not write any works, rethinking his creative path.
In 1995 Tukhmanov returned to music as a children's composer. He writes repertoire for children's studios, choirs, dance ensembles. Together with Yuri Entin, who also lives in Germany at that time, he creates several cycles of songs for children:Byaki-Buki, Golden Hill, Gogol-Mogol-Disco.
In 1997, Tukhmanov returned to Russia and again began to work on the stage. He writes remixes of his old songs, which he successfully presents at the anniversary concert in 2000, from that moment his works begin a second life.
In the 21st century, Tukhmanov gives many authorial concerts, works in various music shows and organizes mass holidays, for example, he writes music for Russia's Independence Day. His works are solemnly performed on Red Square. In 2005 he finished the opera "The Queen" based on the libretto by Y. Ryashentsev. It will be successfully performed on the stage of St. Petersburg Alexandrinsky Theatre, in the musical theater "Premiere" in Krasnodar, in the Moscow "Helikon-Opera". Tukhmanov continues to work actively today. He participates in festivals, writes music for mass events, gives concerts.
Vestra as a vocation
The main thing in the life of the composer Tukhmanov was the song. He wrote his first music for the song back in 1961 - it was the hit "The Last Train" to the verses of Mikhail Nozhkin. For them, in 1972, he received the Prize of the Moscow Komsomol. But the real fame is brought to him by popular pop compositions. His songs are sung by the starsfirst magnitude: Lev Leshchenko, Galina Nenasheva, Valery Obodzinsky, Alexander Gradsky. At the same time, Tukhmanov always remained an experimental composer. So, the disc “How beautiful this world is” combines songs according to the principle of a suite. In 1975, he released an experimental album "According to the Wave of My Memory" with songs based on verses by classical poets, in which the suite principle was also applied, and elements of rock music were already visible at that time.
In the 80s, he writes complex compositions that intertwine classical, folk and rock elements. The record "UFO" was the result of the composer's trials in the style of hard rock. In his work, David Fedorovich collaborates with outstanding singers. He writes a whole program for Sofia Rotaru, works with Valery Leontiev, helps such performers as Nikolai Noskov, Alexander Barykin, Jaak Yoala to get on stage. His songs do not lose their relevance today, they are sung, arranged and remembered.
