The skill of the artist Dmitry Kustanovich
In contemporary art, the landscape painter has secured the status of the inventor of his personal author's method - spatial realism. Using a palette knife, he applies paint to the base in large quantities, creating multi-layered images. This technique allows you to create the very effect of space, for which it is so appreciated by critics and art lovers around the world.
Despite the numerous layers, with the help of a palette knife you can achieve fine lines, which Kustanovich mastered to perfection over 10 years of constant work.
The presence of the artist's musical talent is also reflected in his work: the structure of the compositions is rhythmic, and the color palette is similar to the variety of sounds of notes. Even Vitaly Tretyakov himself noted the depth of images in the paintings of this author.
Artist DmitryKustanovich is the one who was able to break out of the bounds of the limited plane.
Interesting fact. The author quite consciously creates a composition that shows fragments of nature or a city as if they were simply snatched from the temporary stream of life. Instead of clear contours, the borders remain blurred in space.
Theme
Belarus is Dmitry's birthplace, his numerous works are connected with this country. Favorite subjects for him are the roofs of houses, narrow streets and overgrown branches of trees, native places. All paintings by the artist Dmitry Kustanovich are saturated with emotional content.
It was in his homeland that the author began to create such famous series of paintings as "Butterflies", "City Rains" and "Glass".
Cityscape
In the series of urban landscapes of St. Petersburg, the compositional task is to show the life of the city at completely different times of the year and day. The entire color palette consists of light, but cold tones, which perfectly characterize the climate. The paintings convey the architecture of the cultural capital well.
Image of nature
The theme of the seascape is far from the last place for the master. The paintings of the artist Dmitry Kustanovich are able to come to life, as the author works with a variety of shades, creating the effect of an incredibly tangible space.
In a series of paintings en titled "Winter Study in the Village" Kustanovich creates a simplecomposition with the help of calm colors of the palette, thus immersing the viewer in a state of peace. In most of the works in this series, the author depicts images of Russian provincial environs: a winter rural road covered with snowdrifts and cozy, warm wooden houses. In a series of these studies, it is possible to clearly trace Kustanovich's characteristic features:
- exquisitely selected tones and their combination, with the help of which light overflows of almost untouched snow cover are transmitted;
- feeling the freshness of frosty air;
- feeling of space.
The author was not indifferent to the awakening of nature from hibernation. Thus, the work “May Garden” is filled with bright timbre (like notes in music) shades: here are white petals with bluish, yellow, blue and red highlights, and a very juicy green color of plants. The artist seemed to be mentally there and felt every detail, making brush strokes.
When a person looks at the colorful painting "Ray of the Evening Sun in the Summer Forest", the sun seems to illuminate him. The author creates the effect of wildlife and a unique atmosphere with the help of light strokes made with vibrating brush movements. The whole landscape is illuminated by rays, the refraction of which can be seen in all the details present in the picture.
For those who want to enjoy the talent of the artist with their own eyes, the Kustanovich Gallery is open in the city of St. Petersburg on Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street, 11.
