It should be said right away that the film “Military Intelligence. Northern Front" is not an independent work. It is a prequel to two other mini-series: Military Intelligence. Western Front" and "Military Intelligence. First strike.”

If the events of the Great Patriotic War are unfolding in them, then in the first chronologically, but the last film (such a "twist" of the creators of the franchise) film, we are talking about the period preceding the war with Finland and, in fact, the Finnish campaign. Here, our heroes are just taking their first steps, studying at the intelligence school: the first steps in getting to know each other and getting used to each other, the first steps in mastering the basics of the “craft”. The structure in all three seasons is the same: each consists of a trio of films with two episodes each. Nevertheless, it is impossible to say that "Military Intelligence. Northern Front" is a series.

Let's get acquainted

So, the Northern front. Military intelligence is preparing its personnel near Leningrad. Almost at hand with the future enemy.

The main characters, through all three parts, are an undoubted successauthors. This is a young radio operator Alexei Teneshev, yesterday's student at a Moscow university, Belarusian Mikhas Sushkevich, a simple village guy who got into intelligence, so to speak, at the behest of his heart. Intelligent Klim Pavlovsky, a great clever man, a polyglot, he has no equal in hand-to-hand combat - he is an experienced military man, Spain is behind him. Not immediately (at first he lies in the hospital, then he carries out a responsible assignment), but it is Klim who will subsequently lead the group, for which the Northern Front will be the first big test. Military intelligence is somewhat suspicious of this hero: he is the son of an "enemy of the people." But Klim's mentor and his immediate supervisor, Viktor Korneev, stands by the mountain for his student and does not let him offend. There is another image - the deputy head of the intelligence school, Captain Dubko, he leads the group at first. It is impossible not to say about almost the only representative of the weaker sex in this host of real men. Sniper Rita Brusnikina is unrequitedly in love with Alexei and therefore desperately strives to fight side by side with the object of her passion.

Both newbies and luminaries

“Military intelligence. The Northern Front is a film that in no way claims to be unconditionally historically identical to the events of the Soviet-Finnish War. After all, this is, first of all, a work of art in which the scene is the Northern Front; military intelligence is, so to speak, the “main driving force” of the plot. The most valuable thing is that the picture, in the tradition of the best Soviet and Russian films about the war, teaches you to love your Motherland, to bea faithful comrade, for whom the life of a friend is more important than his own. Many adventures will fall to the lot of the group. One of them, for example, is connected with the capture of a seasoned Finnish sniper (known under the code name White Fox), who killed more than one hundred of our commanders. It's good that the authors of the epic "Military Intelligence" chose practically unknown actors for the central roles of Teneshev and Mikhas, which is why they are perceived precisely as "their" guys, just one of us. Klim was played by Pavel Trubiner, who “lit up” in many TV series. This image compares favorably with those he created in The Diary of Dr. Zaitseva (the unlucky lover of the main character) or in The Island of Unnecessary People (a hired killer). There is something to play here. Well, the role of the most experienced Korneev is rightfully given to the venerable Boris Shcherbakov. How many military and simply courageous people they have outplayed - do not count! Welcome to the Northern Front! Military intelligence will give heat to the enemy!
