This year marks the 35th anniversary of the release of the lyrical comedy Love and Doves. The performance, reviews of which are the most enthusiastic, and even more so. The play itself was written in 1981 by the Russian playwright and screenwriter Vladimir Pavlovich Gurkin, who witnessed the true story of the Kuzyakins.

How the "Teatrium on Serpukhovka" appeared

In 1991, the first in Russia International Clown Festival was held under the direction of Teresa Gannibalovna Durova, a hereditary circus artist. More than three hundred stars of the arena demonstrated their skills for several days. Representatives from Russia, Bulgaria, Japan and the United States of America performed at the festivals. When the event ended, several participants were inspired by the idea of creating a repertory theater. They explained their views simply: clowns should be not only in the arena, but also on the stage. So in 1991, the Moscow Clownery Theater appeared under the direction of Teresa Durova.

Since 1993, the doors of the theater opened to its first public. By the way, the performances were intended for small spectators. In less than thirty years, the theater managed to become the country's main children's theater. It is a one-of-a-kind stationary repertory theater that works in the clownery genre. Today the repertoire of scaffolds has expanded. Now performances are divided into children's and adults.

In 2010, by decision of its artistic director, it was renamed to "Teatrium on Serpukhovka". The fact is that the audience was very reluctant to visit the so-called clownery theater, since they associated clowns with the circus. The rebranding specialists have chosen a more appropriate and intriguing name for the theatre.

The theater's repertoire is quite diverse. It includes both musicals and global musical performances. The most realistic drama in the "Theatrium" turns into a light setting. Among the stage performances are children's productions of The Flying Ship, Flint, The Prince and the Pauper, Scarlet Flower, Aladdin's Magic Lamp, Japanese Tale: Samurai Sword. Adults can enjoy the performances "If only there were no children", "The best days of Oblomov's life", "Frank Einstein", "Love and doves". Building and premises of the "Teatrium on Serpukhovka" in Moscow

The former clownery theater is located in Moscow on Pavlovskaya street, at number six. There is a small square in front of the building with convenient parking for private cars. Since the main activity of the theater iscomedy and musical performances, the leading actors are mostly professionals, one way or another connected with the stage and the circus. Many of them graduated from the circus school. And all of them, without exception, can sing. Otherwise, what is a piece of music without a beautiful song accompaniment?

There are practically no leading and secondary actors in the "Theatrium on Serpukhovka". It all depends on the performance and its cast. But even in the crowd, the participants in the productions feel like real stars. After all, almost all the performances of the "Teatrium" are sparkling and funny.

In the "Teatrium on Serpukhovka" are mostly young actors. The average age of the theater staff does not exceed 50 years. The acting troupe includes such artists as Rufat Akchurin, Violetta Buchinskaya, Andrey Ermokhin, Sergey Golubev, Sergey Lobanov, Yulia Naduvaeva, Veronika Kim, Daria Korshunova and others. Many of them starred in popular Russian films and TV series.

About the author of the script "Love and Doves"

The performance, reviews of which are mostly the most favorable, is based on the play by Vladimir Pavlovich Gurkin, a member of the Writers' Union of Russia, and part-time - an actor, playwright, director. A native of the Perm region, Vladimir Pavlovich grew up in the Irkutsk region. From childhood, the boy was fascinated by the colorful nature of Eastern Siberia and the sparkling humor of its inhabitants. After graduating from the army, the acting department of the Irkutsk Theater School, Vladimir joined the Irkutsk Youth Theater, then the Omsk Drama Theater.

Writing Vladimir Gurkin began in his youth. At first it was simple sketches and poems. But the most famous masterpiece of the author was the play "Love and Doves". The scenario of the performance based on this work was accepted with a bang by many theater directors. In addition, in 1984, a television version of the same name was filmed based on the play by a young director Vladimir Menshov. Summary of the legendary play

Director Vasily Mishchenko in the production of "Love and Pigeons" tried to get as close as possible to the original play. At the same time, original episodes with musical accompaniment were included in the performance. Many of them received thunderous applause from the audience.

The plot of the play is rather simple and based on a true story. In one Siberian village, the family of Vasily Kuzyakin, a timber industry worker, and his wife, Nadyukha, live in love and harmony. He brings up a couple of three wonderful children - the eldest Lyudmila, who after an unsuccessful marriage returned to her father's house, the middle techie son Lenka and the youngest - schoolgirl Olka. The latter is her father's favorite and a faithful companion in all his undertakings.

Relationships between spouses meet all the ups and downs of life. Nadezhda considers her husband a troublemaker and a fool, but she forgives him the main passion of his life - pigeons. Scolding spouse for spending onfeathered family money and threatening to “tear off the heads of the damned Herods,” she still never carries out her threats. After all, apart from this "bad habit" Vasily is practically an ideal husband. He is a great master of his craft, in good standing with employees and neighbors. He doesn't smoke, practically doesn't drink, he loves his wife, children and pigeons immensely.

The closest neighbors of the Kuzyakins are Baba Shura and grandfather Mitya. Despite their advanced age, real passions seethe between spouses. A big drinker, Uncle Mitya tries in every possible way to use every opportunity to "look into a glass." Baba Shura strictly follows her hooligan husband and catches him doing his favorite thing, wherever he hides.

Once, having received a work injury in the service, Vasily receives compensation - a ticket to the sea, where he has never been. There he meets Raisa Zakharovna, an employee of the personnel department of the timber industry enterprise, an urban lady, sophisticated, very eccentric and … extremely lonely. A holiday romance breaks out between them. Interesting unusual stories of Raisa Zakharovna and her ex alted behavior fascinate Vasily so much that he does not return home from the resort, but settles with his new lover. Honest Kuzyakin writes a letter to his family explaining his behavior.

However, Raisa Zakharovna (and Alena Yakovleva plays her in the second cast) such recognition seems insufficient and she goes to visit the Kuzyakin family. Accepted at first with great cordiality, she is defeated when Nadezhda realizes who is in front of her.

Returning home in a very shabby form, Raisa Zakharovna tries to complain to her beloved. But even here she is misunderstood. Vasily suddenly seems to wake up from a dream and goes home.

But he can't come back so easily. Exhausted by depression and betrayal, Nadezhda kicks her husband out of the house. The children are also hostile, and the only son threatens to kill his father for hurting his mother.

Vasily settles in a hut on the river bank. Nadezhda, having thought at her leisure, secretly makes her way to him for a serious conversation. As a result of the half-year meetings of the spouses on the river, the woman becomes pregnant. Vasily returns home. His arrival coincides with Lenka's triumphant farewell to the army.

The production is full of many comical episodes and live musical accompaniment. The duration of the performance "Love and Doves" is 120 minutes.

Main roles and performers: Nadyukha and Vasily

Everyone knows that star actors played in the film. The play "Love and Doves" in Moscow is no different from the film. For example, the legendary couple Vasily and Nadezhda are portrayed by Anatoly Zhuravlev and Maria Golubkina. In the second cast, the actress is replaced by the no less famous Olesya Zheleznyak. I must say that the first Nadyukha (performed by Golubkina) is a woman of strict rules without a hint of femininity. A sharp, fast character without feminine softness. Zheleznyak, compared to Maria, is more humorous and understandable to the viewer. Although the brilliant performance of Golubkina could not help captivating the audience, and rare comic moments with her participation caused Homeric laughter. However, whatto be honest, both cannot be compared with the unique Nina Doroshina, whose antics are not destined to be repeated by anyone.

Anatoly Zhuravlev tried to personify Vasily Kuzyakin in all his rustic beauty. He turned out to be a loud, angular and fussy man. The cinematic Vasily, performed by Alexander Mikhailov, is more of a rural intellectual than an uncouth dork. The only thing that unites these two characters is their immense love for pigeons.

Who plays Raisa Zakharovna

The eternal rival of the faithful wife of Nadezhda, the villain from the personnel department of the timber industry, performed by the brilliant Olga Prokofieva, turned out to be rather tragicomic and deeply unhappy. At first, a woman is careless, like a spring bird. The reason for this is the new love of Raisa Zakharovna. In the second cast, her role is played by Alena Yakovleva. Her razluchnitsa is more pretentious and intellectual. But both Raisa Zakharovna turned out to be extraordinary and interesting, sometimes prone to unusual attacks. So the audience remembered the discovery of the director of the play "Love and Pigeons" Vasily Mishchenko. After the departure of her beloved Vasily Kuzyakin, Raisa Zakharovna expresses her despair and resentment through solo pantomime. This episode brought tears to the viewers along with laughter.

Olga Tumaykina and Elena Biryukova also played in different compositions. Each actress brought her own unique flavor to the image of Raisa Zakharovna.

Children of the Kuzyakins: Lyudka, Lyoshka, Olka

The eldest daughter of the Kuzyakins, Lyudmila, was played by the magnificent Natalya Gromushkina, who is the producer of the play. On the one hand, her Lyudka turned out to be strict and impregnable, and on the other, a mysterious girl who loves her unfaithful husband and anxiously awaits news from him. Having become an unwitting participant in family scandals, she prefers to remain silent and raises her voice in case of extreme resentment and misunderstanding. In general, Lyudmila Kuzyakina in the version of Natalia Gromushkina is a bright, imaginative, ambiguous and very noticeable girl.

The youngest children of the spouses Lenya and Olya, performed by young, not yet very famous actors Ivan Dubrovsky and Elena Karpovich, organically fit into the action. Their remarks and movements did not bring disharmony into the episodes, but, on the contrary, supplemented them.

Colorful couple - grandfather Mitya and grandmother Shura

Unforgettable and magnificent Sergei Yursky at one time created the image of a rural drunkard-slob of Uncle Mitya, who seemed to be unbeatable by anyone. However, Mikhail Zhigalov in "Love and Pigeons" of the "Teatrium on Serpukhovka" exceeded all expectations. His character is less fussy and more sedate, but just as funny and inventive. Sometimes it seems that the whole performance rests on the actor.

Baba Shura performed by Raisa Ryazanova is a woman with a sense of humor and strictness towards her husband. She easily calculates all his ideas and finds her husband in the most secluded places. Trying not to deviate from the written text according to the script, the couple could still make their own little interesting touches. By the way, Tatyana Orlova impressed the audience with her original approach and wit in a different cast of Baba Shura in the play Love and Doves.

Producer and director of the production

Russian actress Natalya Gromushkina, not wanting to rest on her success, at one point decided to start producing productions. Born in an intelligent family (her father is a doctor of historical sciences, her mother is a translator, a member of the Union of Journalists), she was doomed to a creative profession. During her rather short life, Natalya managed to be a member of a children's vocal and instrumental ensemble, dance, enter the Russian Academy of Theater Arts at the directing department, and star in cult TV shows. As a producer, Gromushkina organized such performances as "Funeral Prayer or Violinist on the Roof", "My Fair Kat", the musical "Cabaret". Today she is a successful manager of the play "Love and Doves". The actors involved in this production gladly accepted Natalya into their team, where she successfully played the eldest daughter of the Kuzyakins, Lyudmila. Both the role and the organization were a great success for the actress.

The performance was staged by Oleg Tabakov's student, the first theatrical performer of the role of Lyonka, actor Vasily Mishchenko. Gaining some courage, he decided to repeat the legendary film on the stage. Trying to practically not deviate from the text and scenes, the director simply transferred the action of the film to the theatrical stage. Of course, some nuances still distinguish the performance from the film. For example, solo-pantomimes of the main characters, musical inclusions and sharp words make the production quite bright and colorful. Discussions of sensitive topics, combined with unobtrusive obscene expressions, sometimesenter the viewer into a slight shock. However, the modern audience is more demanding than the Soviet viewer of their favorite film.

How the performance was created

As you know, the success of the production depends not only on the acting. The play "Love and Doves" is no exception. Scenery, costumes, and lighting are also important here. I must say that the design of the partical of Vasily Mashchenko's production is quite specific. On the one hand, decorators under the direction of Sergei Timokhin tried to reproduce the atmosphere of a rural yard. Bed linen on a rope, an old table and rickety chairs should be associated with the viewer with the cozy home of the Kuzyakins. Throughout the performance, the scenery does not change almost once. Unless the stepladder, symbolizing the dovecote, is removed. Of course, wildlife on the theater stage is difficult to reproduce. Therefore, the viewer can guess about seascapes only by listening to the distant cries of seagulls and the sound of the surf.

Costumes for heroes are designed in the style of the eighties of the last century. The uncomplicated chintz outfits of the heroines, caps, bloomers and felt boots really resembled pre-perestroika times. Somewhat embarrassing is the youngest daughter of the Kuzyakins, Olga, flaunting in a school uniform with a white apron and a red pioneer tie. However, given that the girl attends school, this may be appropriate.

The music for the performance was written by composer Alexei Ponomarev. Lyrical and cheerful melodies accompanied the performance all the time. Heroes on the stage dance, sing and show pantomimes,depending on the director's intent. The result is a bright, rich performance that cannot be forgotten for a long time.

Favorite quotes from the play

Beautiful, kind and cheerful production inspires optimism not only with a good game of those who play. In the play "Love and Pigeons" there are a lot of phrases and catchphrases that the audience loved from the film by Vladimir Menshov. It is probably impossible to find a middle-aged person who does not know the key quotes. Vasily Mishchenko decided not to deviate from the script and included colorful expressions in his production. Nadezhda speaks out to her beloved ones “Lyudk, ah, Lyudk!”, “What is a pys-pys?”, “Where did such a beautiful uncle come from to us?”, “What is love?”, “How to live, Uncle Mitya?”, “It would have killed the parasite just like that!”, “I’ll cut off your pigeons’ heads!”

Vasily, in turn, ends each of his phrases with the exclamation "aha". Also memorable expressions of the protagonist were “But the babai took the money!..”, “Even you swung at twenty-five rubles, Nadya, huh?”, “But who will tie him (tie) now? All! I went to the resort!”.

But, perhaps, Uncle Mitya pours out the most sparkling phrases. That's where what is not an expression is a quote! Here and his “Bastille Day was wasted”, “Because - the miners! That is, these are people from the mountains”, “I don’t understand Kikimor … Take her away, Nadezhda!”, “Mycardial infarction! What a scar!”, “Sorry… What prevented you from hiding the money.”

Entire characters' dialogues are also funny. In a word, “Love and Doves” is a work that can be quoted from the first word.

The play "Love and Doves": audience reviews

After watching Vasily Mishchenko's production, the audience took it ambiguously. Someone accepted it with delight and joy. Others constantly compared the performance with the famous film and found its shortcomings. The performance of individual actors was also evaluated. According to many viewers, the presence of People's Artist Raisa Ryazanova and Honored Artist Mikhail Zhigalov saved the production. If not for the performance of the latter, the performance would have lost its charm.

The public also liked Olga Prokofieva's game. Her Raisa Zakharovna came out as an extravagant and ex alted woman. But Maria Golubkina in the image of Nadezhda seemed to many dry and extremely strict. But most of all, the main character, played by Anatoly Zhuravlev, struck. His Vasily Kuzyakin came out extremely noisy and hyperactive. Perhaps the loud voice was due to the weak acoustic capabilities of the auditorium. Be that as it may, the play "Love and Pigeons" in the "Theatrium on Serpukhovka" is a spectacle worthy of close attention.
