The one who wrote "The Little Prince" spent his childhood in conditions similar to the life of a royal person. Antoine de Saint-Exupery was born into the family of a count and spent his childhood in an old castle, the walls of which were built in the thirteenth century. Here, at the beginning of the twentieth century, his widowed mother settled with five children. Despite some dilapidation, the castle kept traces of centuries of luxury and history.
Tonio (what was the name of the boy in the family) along with his brothers ran through the huge halls decorated with armor and tapestries, but most of all he liked to walk with the forester in a huge park and mess with a variety of animals. He had governesses, home parties with dances in ancient costumes and universal love, which the little count with golden hair reciprocated.
But the future author of The Little Prince could not live completely carelessly for a long time. His father died when Antoine was four years old, the estate was unprofitable, so at the age of seventeen he began to serve in aviationin Strasbourg. Before becoming a military man, Tonio suffered a heavy loss - his beloved brother died. In general, in the life of this unusual person there were many blows and falls in the literal and figurative sense of the word.
After military service, the one who wrote "The Little Prince" was steeped in a series of failures. He failed to enter the Naval Academy, lived on funds sent by his mother. In the end, Antoine, whose ancestors were archbishops and generals, became a traveling salesman, despite all his disgust for this profession. He was saved from a gray life by the opportunity to fly. He was hired by the Lakoeter company, where he showed himself as a desperately brave pilot and selfless person, for which he was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor.
The one who wrote the work "The Little Prince" looked like a magician in the eyes of others. After Antoine Saint-Exupery became a famous writer (the novel "Southern Postal") and left aviation, he began to do charity work, because decent fees appeared. Antoine was very fond of children and adults, because he was kind and well versed in people. In addition, the writer was a skilled magician and, as they say, a hypnotist.
We know that whoever wrote The Little Prince participated in World War II from its earliest days. He flew on a whim, and his absent-mindedness was legendary. Count Antoine Saint-Exupery could go into a combat aircraft with a book in his hands - and all the attendantsthe staff was afraid that he would not stop reading it in time. The pilot made sure that he was allowed to fly to the Annessi area, where he once lived in his ancient castle. And he did not return from one such flight, it was in July 1944. Only in 2000 was his plane found, and the German pilot, who lived to be 88 years old, admitted that he shot down the writer.
Everyone should read The Little Prince. The meaning of the work is so multifaceted that anyone will find in it something important for themselves. It is not for nothing that The Little Prince, written many decades ago, has long been disassembled into quotes and still excites the minds and feelings of people.
