Childhood

Volodya Steklov was born in Karaganda on January 3, 1948. The boy's childhood passed in Astrakhan. He was raised by his mother and grandmother. He did not know his father. At school, Volodya did not particularly shine, and after classes he ran out into the street, where his peers and football were waiting for him. In other words, the boy grew up like millions of his peers in the Soviet Union. But still there was something that distinguished him from other boys. This is a serious passion for the theater.

This addiction was instilled in him by his mother, who worked as an accountant in the theater. She took her son to all the performances, first at the puppet theater, then at the Youth Theater, and later at the drama theater. They never missed the tour of the capital's troupes. After the performances, she and her mother discussed the production. Sometimes their opinions did not coincide, but this did not prevent them from remaining avid theater-goers. Volodya especially liked opera performances: "Rigoletto", "Faust","Demon". He knew them by heart. However, the young man for a long time did not even dream of an acting profession. The first thoughts about her appeared only after he enrolled in a theater studio.

Once their theatrical team took part in the regional review of amateur performances and won a prize. They showed the play "Two Colors". The jury especially noted the role of Glahar, which was brilliantly performed by young Steklov, and advised him to enter a theater university. Vladimir doubted for a long time whether he should go into this profession, whether he could handle it.

After leaving school, the young man followed the advice of professionals.

Theatrical School

Despite the disgusting diction, Vladimir easily entered the theater school in his native Astrakhan. True, the young man was given the condition that during the first semester he had to correct the defect. Vladimir Steklov seriously took up this business, began to study with teachers and soon became a full-fledged student.

After graduating from the second year, the young actor decided to try his luck in Moscow and went to enter GITIS. The attempt was unsuccessful, and Vladimir Steklov, whose photo you see in this article, returned to Astrakhan. Ironically, many years later he became a professor at GITIS, where he had once been rejected, and headed the acting course.

The beginning of a creative life

After graduating from college, Vladimir Steklov went to serve in the army. He was sent to the Air Force ensemble "Flight". After serving faithfully for two years, he returned to the profession.
