The plots of his works are simple and understandable. They completely fit into one scheme: at first, the heroes receive a difficult (otherwise it would be uninteresting!) combat mission, then they carefully plan their actions, and in the final third they successfully solve the problem. It would seem simple, but in fact it turns out that in each work of Zagortsev we can find elements of various genres, from a detective story to an intellectual thriller, from an action movie to a tragedy.
Tragic optimism

Thanks to the ease of style and the author's commitment to short, chopped phrases, the reader can follow the development of the plot without much effort. Speaking of Zagortsev, one cannot fail to mention his characteristic humor. It is no coincidence that people say: "He who served in the army does not laugh in the circus." Andrei Zagortsev has an inexhaustible supply of army tales, which he generously inserts into his works. They only benefit from this - even the most tragic moments are perceived with some kind of irrational optimism and cheerfulness.

Zagortsev began publishing relatively recently. In 2009, his debut book, Do Not Give Vodka to Pilots, was published. She tells about the first Chechen war, and all those stylistic features that will be inherent in Zagortsev later have already clearly manifested in it.
In the same year, the book "A Company of Marines" saw the light of day. In 2011, perhaps the most successful and multi-layered book of the author was published - “Special Forces of the Third World War. Russian trump cards. Here, deep knowledge of the subject is combined with pureliterary merits - elaboration of characters and a skillfully written plot. Even people who were initially skeptical of this book admitted that they literally devoured it overnight.
Inspired by the success of "Special Forces …", Andrey Zagortsev wrote "Battle Creed". This is the author's most unusual work. Firstly, the focus of the story here is not a real military operation, but exercises. Secondly, extolling the strength and ingenuity of the Russian soldier, Zagortsev quite unexpectedly decided to make staff officers the main characters. They are tasked with defeating trained groups of battle bayonets. It seems that they have no chance of success, however, due to competent planning and dashing Russian prowess, they still cope with the task.
The deep thought is this - no matter what position a person occupies, it is important that at a critical moment he does not lose his head and can use all hidden reserves.
Creative plans
Recently, Andrey Zagortsev turned 43. The age is very respectable for a military officer, but frankly “infantile” for a writer. Zagortsev has several decades of literary works ahead of him, which will be very interesting to follow.
