Childhood

The future film and theater actress is born on October 25, 1931. It takes place in Paris, the capital of France. Her mother works as an obstetrician, but there is no information about Annie's father - he leaves the family even before the baby is born.

Little Annie Girardot loves her mother and respects her work. That is why, after graduating from school, she decides to go to nursing courses. While studying at the courses, Annie Girardot successfully nurses a premature baby, and this is noted by the mentors.

Youth

Annie prophesiedan excellent career in medicine, but the girl's mother knows about her real dreams, so she insists that her daughter try to enroll in acting classes. She invites her to try, saying that if Annie fails, she will have the opportunity to return and work as a midwife. In 1956, Jean Cocteau offers Annie the lead role in his new work, The Typewriter. The playwright examines in the girl the ability to play roles in the drama (previously, Annie Girardot was assigned the role of an actress in comedies). The Typewriter is a huge success. Subsequently, it can often be seen in the author's films of Guy Gilles, Marco Ferrera and their comrades in the shop. At the same time, she played for the first time in the Russian film "Journalist" by Sergei Gerasimov.

In the seventies, Girardot becomes one of the three most sought-after actresses in France. She is most often seen in dramas in which shesuccessfully creates complex female images. Most of the films of the actress of that time are comedies, best of all showing the skill of Anna Girardot: "Old Maid", "Novices", "Soup" and "Squabble". The actress receives the Cesar Award in 1977 for the film Doctor Françoise Guyan, as well as the Donatello Award for the film Run After Me So I Can Catch You. Death

Relatives of Annie Girardot in 2006 declare that the actress was diagnosed with progressive Alzheimer's disease. Four years later, she no longer recognizes loved ones, and can only remember fragments of her past.

Daughter Julia transports her mother to a village 50 kilometers from Paris, where Annie Girardot dies on February 28, 2011.
