When we were very young, we already loved to listen to fairy tales, gave books to our parents to read to us before going to bed. We really liked to get acquainted with interesting and instructive stories and look at beautiful and bright illustrations. Then, when we already learned to read on our own, we began to study literature, the works of famous authors were taught at school.

What does a book mean to a person?

Books are a source of knowledge, a storehouse of wisdom. It is from them that we learn the world around us, get acquainted with the rules of behavior. Remember how in the children's poem: “What is good? What is bad? By the same principle, we learn from other books.

Now we have become quite adults, graduated from school, and someone decided to connect their field of activity with the Russian language and literature. And here we are again going through all those works, novels, poems, fables that we studied in childhood. Only now we carefully analyze them and determine the meaning of what was written, reflect on what the author tried to convey to us.

Speaking of fables. In this article we will talk with you about famous works. Specifically, we are interested in the fableKrylov "Quartet".

Krylov himself considered fables to be a folk genre. He said that both children and servants could read them. The fables reflected the thinking of the people, they were written in a playful, aphoristic form. It can be seen that most of the author's works were created on topics that he took directly from life.

History of Creation

Krylov's fable "The Quartet" was not created by chance. After reading it, we see that the four animals decide to play a quartet, but they can't do it. The reason for writing was the desire of the author to ridicule the state body of Russia, that is, the State Council. It was created a year earlier than Krylov's fable "The Quartet" came out. The Council consisted of four departments. At their head were the nobles Mordvinov, Lopukhin, Zavadovsky and Arakcheev.

So, we have already found out that there are four characters in the fable, whom Krylov introduced as follows: under the Monkey he meant Mordvinov, under the Donkey - Zavadovsky, under the Bear - Arakcheev, under the Goat - Lopukhin. They could not agree among themselves and share responsibilities, so they decided to switch places. Krylov's fable "The Quartet" presents us with the same picture. Animals don't have the ability toto make music, but they decided to "captivate the world with art" at all costs. They consider themselves experienced craftsmen and professionals, although in reality they are nothing. From a change in places, nothing changes, and they are also haunted by failure. The moral of this fable is the words of the nightingale, whom the animals called for help. He said that in order to be engaged in any business, one must first of all have some knowledge and skills. And they (animals) are not suitable for musicians.

Krylov's fable "The Quartet", the text of which is very easy to read, ends with the following words:

To be a musician, you need skill

And your ears are softer…”

The moral lies in these words.
