This article details a unique project - the Pushkin School Theater in St. Petersburg.
A bit of history
This is the only institution in the world created specifically for the study of the literary heritage of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. The theater was opened in honor of the 200th anniversary of the poet in 1992. The work of the center was headed by Vladimir Recepter, a man who devoted most of his life to studying the personality and creative path of Pushkin. Also, such masters of Russian cinema as Oleg Basilashvili and Petr Fomenko actively participated in the development of the center.
About activities
Today, the Pushkin School Theater works in three directions at once:
- theatrical (staging performances based on the works of Alexander Sergeevich);
- publishing (compilation of a special series of unique books "Pushkin's premiere", which received the highest world awards and was marked as the best by famous Pushkin academics);
- pedagogical (conducting master classes by masters of performing arts).
The Pushkin School Theater organizes various Russian and international events aimed at studying the literature of the great writer and poet. In addition, the performances of the theater troupe were successfully shown in such foreign cities as Paris, Marseille and others.
